Project Sidewinder

hi mate i am looking to get the E5200 in the SG02.

was lookign to get a Zalman 8700 but then it would bowl down, with the PSU blowing up.

could you stick a 120mm fan blowing up that cooler or is 92mm the biggest?

also whats the max stable OC you have gotten with that cooler and the E5200, i will be using the DFI Jr P45-T2RS

would you choose the NT06 or the NT06 V2?

also will this work with the FX121 cross flow fan?

Be very careful of this. It really impacts temperatures. I had this setup in an SG01 and SG03 and the temperatures were horrid. I found better performance with the stock cooler.

If you find a thin 120mm fan then possibly. Better to just go with a good performing 92mm though.

That's a much better board, I think you'd be looking at over 3GHz with the right cooler.

The V2.

It will. :)

Shaffaaf:

Get the NT06 V2, and you should hit 3.5GHz with ease on that DFI board. I got 3.33 with only a tiny voltage increase, so I imagine the newer chips are even better. As tute said, 120mm is doable, but you need to make sure it clears components on your board (that's the main issue which forced me to use a 92mm - anything bigger hit the mosfet heatsink laterally).

Note though you CANNOT use the NT06 with the crossflow fan - they're mutually exclusive since they occupy the same space. There's a note about it on the SS website if you need more info. You could however mount the crossflow fan on the outside of the case and use it as an intake, but I'm not sure how effective that would be.

Hope that helps,

Suman

cheers guys, no fx121 for me. i am buying on thursday.

i have read the nt06 V2's cooler interfeers with the psu, would it be okay if i used the nt06 V2 without the fan?
