LOL.

DAMN m8! You're certainly getting use out of that AA membership

I feel so bad about your luck with this car m8, it never so much gave me a *hint* of a problem whilst I had it :(

Mate, honestly don't feel bad. This latest round of probs are related to the turbo conversion anyway, you have nothing to feel bad about ;)

More flameage :o

I went to the cinema last night, and for whatever reason I decided to take the 'teg, just though I'd give it a run. It was running flawlessly, got to the cinema without any issues, parked up and noticed a little wisp of smoke come from under the bonnet.

I popped the bonnet, and the smoke was coming from around the manifold/turbo/downpipe area. Then before my eyes said area burst into flames

So I got my fire extinguisher out of the car, pulled the safety tab, and the top of it fell apart in my hands , I then ran into a nearby restaurant and grabbed a fire extinguisher, came back to the car and the fire had all but put itself out, I extinguished the small flame that was still burning. Thankfully there is no damage whatsoever, aside from the downpipe/dumptube heatwrap being a little scorched.

The only explantation I can think of is the turbo feed was weeping oil again, it soaked into the heatwrap, then when I stopped the heat built up and ignited the oil.

Jeez dude! I'd definately be talking to the people you bought that from, that's just not on!

Aside from that, what film did you see?

for about £300 you can get a decent plumbed in extinguisher, I am almost certainly getting one for the Cerb as they go up fantastically in minutes, and even a small electrical fire can write it off due to the loom being almost irreplaceable and the fibreglass body burns up as well.

Worth getting one for the teg?

Didn't bother in the end, I just called the AA and went home. I was going to watch Wanted.

Bah :(

Mind you, I would have been in the cinema wondering if my car was in flames again!

Don't give up on it Ben, I'll make a note in the RR thread for everyone to be carrying fire extinguishers and be at the ready for your arrival :p

Aww shame. Know the feeling though, how many strikes, failures and issues can you get kinda thing.....Puts you right off something.

Sometimes it's worth muscling through but other times, best to cash chips.

Console yourself by buying this :p

If you don't like it, you can always sell it on for a grand or more over what you paid for it :)

:D

Well, I'm just kind of guaging interest at the moment. I've been looking at some import sites and there is some stuff that has really caught my eye, so I decided to see what kind of interest I would get. I've actually had four people interested already, three of whom are interested in a straight buy, and another one who wants to P/X his Civic SIR-II with a B18C5 (ITR engine) conversion.

I don't know, I'm so confused :/
