Project: Soul Junky and a BIG Thank You :')

My case got here the other day!
I think I might leave it on the supplied fan controller for now. Very cool case and your build has been a major inspiration. I hope I can make it look as slick as yours :D

Thanks mate, i really appreciate you gaining inspriation from my efforts into building this rig. Post some pictures of yours when you're done? Would be good to see yours aswel.

Final updates:

After not doing anything to the Rig since last year, this month i have finally completed my system.

Also added a WD Caviar Black 500GB for all my games and a Deskstar 1TB for all my videos, pictures, music and software to seperate it all from the Samsung F3 which is solely running Windows 7 64bit now.

I have learnt a ton of stuff from this build and in total i've spent £500 on GPU's, £200 on motherboards, £150 on PSU's and another £80 on HDD's... not including the original cost of the system from Mesh which i bought as a mistake at £558.

Thanks :'), will be trading the case in eventually for a Lian Li i think. Airflow is good in this case, keeps both GPU's rather fresh but i wouldn't mind a tad more cooling just to be safe.

I know i said i was finished with this but since getting my second XFX card i have been thinking and toying around with ideas. I had some Carbon Fibre Vinyl left over from wrapping my car bonnet so i'm going to use the rest to wrap my card shrouds but doing a little twist to it!

Some pics of the unfinished setup, i got some new fans on the way soon and the orange leads will be gone also.

Theres enough there to wrap both sides of the cards where the ATI logo sits. I'll start tonight after work and post pics as i go along :)

Thank you Jeci, it's not completed yet. Still missing a few mods Here and there and also the side window needs a snowy symbol or picture engraved on it. Still struggling to find somewhere that could do it. The edges of the side panel needs tidying also!

Everything about this is so nice, apart from those akasa cable wrap things. Any reason why you're using them? Obviously you like them but they're not my cup of tea personally!

they're mainly for keeping the cables tidy. On the gpu connectors they have a 6+2 pin on each cable so obviously only using the 6 pin i get a 2 pin left over which dangles about and makes it look untidy. Using the Straps i can keep them locked in place make things look abit neater. I've also used one on the 24pin cable but thats there because the braided cables are touching the closest HDD in the HDD cage. The Strap just stops the cables from rubbing against it :).

Mod 1: Carbon Fibre Vinyl Wrapped Bridges

Carbon Wrapped Crossfirex Bridges, they go so well with the stealthy theme i have going at the moment!

The bridges do look abit Bland but i will be getting some Custom XFIRE decals in red stuck to them soon once i get the desired design.

NEXT:

Next will be replacing the top 200mm fan with a White LED one or i may just get a LED strip and make it fit around the fan depending on how bright they are (Wishes he could put them on a dimmer switch).

NICE build - thats a lot of effort you've put in there. well done.

wish i'd of gone the custom route rather than buying an alienware im just lazy.

looking forward to see what else your going to do with the carbon fibre.

Another New GPU!!!

Nice build love the custom bridge cover - nice case too

The crossfire setup has gone and i have been with Nvidia for a few weeks now after having problems with crossfire and driver issues. I got fed up and decided to sell 2 of the 3 5870's that i had for a single solution.

The GTX 570 Asus Direct CU II edition was and is probably the best purchase i've made in awhile! Overclocks way past 580 levels and is currently sitting at a peachy 852 core, 1700 shader clock and 2000 memory clock at 1.065v. Temps never go over 61c and have yet to push it past 900core with plenty of voltage to go yet.

Also got 2 new Gelid Wing 12 UV fans to replace the noisey Enermax Twister fans which started to get louder for some reason.

Heres the new Pictures
