What is the score with the "BeQuiet" supply? Is the replacement any better?

was just wondering the same. been following this thread from the outset, and kinda worried now that it's gone so quiet since the water block fitting :eek:

It's all good. Mobo block went on really well. Even fitted a new PSU!!! The OCZ one I wanted wasn't available anymore so got the zalman heat pipe 1000w from OCUK. Notably quieter than that crappy BeQuiet that's caused me so much frustration. About 10dB quieter and much much less tonal in character.

I got some nice pix of the mobi block install I'll upload soon

Nope, the BeQuiet replacement was even noisier!!! BeQuiet did humour me with some emails about a month ago but then never got back to me. They weren't happy I proved their PSU was grossly out of noise spec and that they had made up their figures!!! Never going near them again.

Be Quiet is generally a well respected company, I guess you got a random dodgy power supply. At least you're all sorted now with a quieter unit.

I'm sure they are, that's why I went with them. After 2 faulty units and appalling support, I can only disagree now!

I wouldn't worry mate. Most are happy but they have different models, socould just be their 1200w unit.

They are a german company and after many attempts I got handed over to a UK guy on the email who seemed pretty useful. Others have a a good service from this guy. I think they/he started ignoring me as I highlighted that their unit was incorrectly specified. Nit much they can do then.
