Hitman Project!

After having my Mirage for a few weeks, I decided I wanted to make more use out of it.

Started with something simple, I have always been a Nvidia fan and unless something seriously wrong happened to Nvidia I will most probably use their cards every time, Cue my nvidia logo (done this before I started this project so lack of pictures  )
Made a simple freehand stencil followed by a more accurate pencil outline, taped the temple to the side of my case and done a outline. Spent the next couple of days (few hours a day) etching the logo intoo the side of the case, took me awhile to get the finish I was looking for, kinda happy but with me im never 100% happy anyway 

A few shots during and last one being how it stand now.

I was happy, for a little bit :p, next I got thinking about the insides. I have never attempted cable tidying the inside of my case as proven by the following pic

So I decided to go about making it tidy!
Started by unplugging everything and removing the motherboard tray with the motherboard still attached, then I guess – ta – Mated :D how big each hole would need to be, marked up the tray with a marker and set about making some rough cuts.

Once that was done I then went about filing  this took quite a while but I wanted them very very smooth because if I moved my case about (not that I normally do :P ) then theres a small chance that the wires cut get cut.

Once filed to a smoother finished I made a quick refit of all my stuff to see how it looks, I was 50% 50% on the outcome. My main problem was the graphics and 24pin power connecter, the cables would just about reach but it was very tight, so I made a note to cut a hole to drop the cables through the case side that holds the psu in place to allow extra length and then carried on.

Next on my list was the motherboard tray again! Although I thought the chrome on black looked nice, I wanted it all black! So once again it was back to …..my list!!! The outcome wasn’t the best, but I had two options, Powdercoating or spraying it!

I went with powdercoating as I thought it would be different. Next major problem, the powdercoater (sounds like a 60’s super villain) said that because it was a chromed tray it could not be powdercoated  gutted as I was, it it looked like it would have to be sprayed, Cue a mate of mine to put his expertise to good use!

I shall now jump to the next bit of my project which was the design of the first panel (the one that has the nvidia logo on it)
I sat thinking as I usually do, My case mod/project needed a theme, after seeing what other members had done I started thinking of what I could put on my case and not want to change it next week :p and I came to the conclusion of the one game (no matter what console) I could play again and again….HITMAN!

So my plan of action was this.

1.Make a Custom Window
2.Give the case a more Hitman-ish Look
3.Get Some Watercooling in the case aswel

Update Soon :)

i will post final pics in the akasa club thread, dont want to clutter it up with all the updates etc, so i will post a link in the thread aswel once its finished :)

not much done this weekend so far, just finished making more markings ready for the window to be cut. picking up my motherboard tray later on today, so the internals of my case will be all black and then i will be adding the red and mayb a little bit of white to make it soooooooo much more pretty :p

nice job on the cable tidying, may have to do the same ;)

wish that was the finished tidying :p still got a few more wires to tuck in but that will be next week when i take the tools to the case mwahahaaha.

anyway on to the update. got the tray back today and it looks sweet! makes the case look a lot tidyier inside. few shots, not the best im afraid, silly camera phone, time to get on with the next bit of the project ;)

Need to remove that white plastic clip next!!

ALAS! final got some time to get some things sorted :) been sorting out a few items to be purchased with this months pay, being christmas and all im getting the smaller stuff now and then christmas bonus will go far next month :D

Decided i want the cables all sleeved black to give it a clean and stealthy look, also started getting some of the watercooling stuff, some nice tubing, some UV Red feser 1 and some cathodes :) hopefully the window will be done and dusted by next week but it depends on whether the tools are at my garage when i get there.

fingers crossed for more updates and pics on the weekend

only changed made so far is a different CPU cooler for now (got a ninja on there now :) ) and also............... removed the white clip at the bottom of the case mmmmmmmm clean lines inside now :D

just taken delivery of some braiding gear and some water cooling goodness :D. it looks like it will be a good weekend!

wasnt able to get any work done weekend just gone, stupid work with their stupid deadlines :p

however i have recieved some more kit. had a little bit more watercooling parts and should be recieving my Plexi for the window, some "racing " Mesh and also some carbon fibre aswel for this weekend so expect some changes to be made :)

havent been able to get much done to this :( which is a shame as i was hoping to get a fair bit done before xmas. got all my watercooling parts and also got some case modding stuff arriving tomorrow, shall hopefully get the last bit of drilling and cutting done this weekend and get some pics up as its starting to look bare in here :D

ooooooooo nearly forgot ! i have................ made it a bit more quiet by gettting some stabilizers for my harddrives :) plus it takes them out of the fdd bay they were in so that can come out leaving more room for my watercooling goodness

wow! its been a while since i updated this :) anyway, whats been done.........

Watercooling been preped to be put in
holes for power cables been cut and edged
both hdd been moved in to the 5.25 bays
mesh sections been cutted and edged, might spray them black

few pics of the watercooling-ness, other pics can be uploaded if wanted :)

this will go where the psu is and cover the gap at the top, being meshed it wont lose that much air flow around the top end of the case and the gap is pointless as the cables that would run through the gap from the psu to the motherboard will come out from beneath the motherboard through the holes i cut for them :)

not much has changed really inside the case, scythe ninja in place for now, can see two cathodes just to lighten the case up a bit and other than that possibly a little bit of a tidy up with the wires from last time.

only reason the power cables are in view now are that im still waiting for my dad to bring those blinking tools over :( once he does, most the wires should be invisible, ninja style :p
