Pros and cons of having a kitten

Err ok random, I'd be scared the bear would eat me. Plus I don't think I have room for a 7ft bear in my flat

what? you seriously spend £1 per week?!

the way I worked it out was considering 3 pouches of decent food and a bowl of biscuits per day at a cost of:
12 pouches (gourmet perle / sheba gold / oh so fishy etc) £5ish (we usually buy whatever decent food is on offer)
small box of 'indoor cat' biscuits £1 (lasts a week ish at a bowl a day)
even a single tin of tuna is over £1!!

where do you do your shopping?! we obviously need to look elsewhere!!

Our cat only eats dry food, even IAMS or Wellbeloved food works out about £1.50 per week (she's quite a small cat, but even a big cat would be £2.50 per week on dry food I'd estimate).

Whiskas complete dry food is about £4 for 2kg and an adult cat. It lasts about 1.5 weeks for 3 cats and they always have food spare which we have to throw away as they prefer it more crunchy. Makes their poos less smelly as well

Admittedly it was easier for us, as our 3 all came from rescue shelters and one where the only got one of those chav celebrity dogs like shihzu or chihuahua however they are spelt and didnt want 3 cats any more as a result, the swines. They all came eating dry food anyway.

John West tuna steak costs that. They eat shredded or chunks though from generic brands just the same. The only non dry food our oldest cat will eat is tuna.

I gotta agree with most of the comments here, I'm covered in scratches on my arms (my own stupid fault for play fighting with him) but keeping a cat indoors is no problem at all.

We have a filtered water fountain, give him dry food which costs next to nothing compared to the last cat that was on Felix pouches, he never scratches anything except his cat tree (and me!) and is more than entertained with the toys thrown across the floor.

We have some S Shaped track thing with a ball in he sits and bats backwards and forwards all day we got from a pet store. Go for it in my opinion

another thing to consider though is that in three weeks time we'll be off on holiday for a few days, and then 6-7 weeks after that we'll be going on a 3 week holiday.

So would it be wise to wait until after all our hols? Hmmmm

That is something we've considered, there seems to be mixed opinions on this. Does anyone here who has an indoor cat have an opinion on this?

My aunt has 2 indoor cats and a dog. The cats have been de-clawed... and all 3 of them live in perfect harmony.. the dog does go outside.

Any thoughts? Should we wait?

If your getting a kitten you may find you can pick the cat now but cant take it home for 4-6 weeks or more depending on when its ready to leave its mother.

I'd take a look around and see if you can time it for your return
