Protect and Serve . . . yeah right !

Saw this on the news this morning, looks bad for the cop, however at the start of the video you can see the bloke scuffle with the cop briefly, and something drops to the floor.

There's absolutely no way to say that was anything other than murder :(.

Wait for the trial, I'm sure they will find a way ;)

I remember the descriptions from the police who were filmed beating Rodney King on the side of the road with their batons. Their defence was basically "we just lifted our baton in a defensive manner and Mr King repeatedly ran in it" :D

Woah, again.

The US Police really don't do themselves any favours.

Plain murder, wasn't even fazed.

Don't worry the cop very kindly picked it up and dropped it next to the now dead man, we wouldn't want the guy to lose it...

8 shots fired before eventually hitting a man in the back while running away. Self defence... um, no.

Yea that was the taser the man apparently stole and whilst running away with it in the opposite direction of the officer, presented a danger to the officer life.

The same taser the officer, after shooting the running away man in the back 8 times and cuffing him, ran back 25 yards to pick up the taser to conveniently plant over the body of the dead man.

Quite frankly black America needs to protest and not stop until laws and procedures are changed. Enough is enough

He hit him 5 times, which I guess isn't that bad out of 8 shots fired that quickly on a moving target?

I know people think they would get 8/8 (with all those l33t BF/COD skills) but in real world conditions like that, I'm not so sure.

Shouldn't have run away. Therefore upto no good and therefore deserves to be shot as they have guns in the USA. In the UK he would have been rugby tackled down and got a light kickin on the wrestle to the ground.

Police have a hard enough job in the first place, especially over in the states when every can be packing some heat (ooooooo get me).

I dont care if your black/asian or any other creed, you run from the law you deserve all you get.

Possible that in the heat of the moment the officer didn't realise the taser was on the ground and thought the fella had nicked it? Once the incident was over he may have realised what happened to the taser, panicked and moved it to the body.

If I was a US cop I'd definitley be handing in my notice - they aren't funded well enough, and when any incident like this happens they get trialled by media who actively want them to go to prison, which for a cop is practically a death sentence in itself.

Apart from the law, you know, that thing the cops are supposed to uphold, say that's a load of ******* :p

Apart from the police are not there to summarily kill people because they don't obey orders... There has to be a fear of death from the supsect before they can use (deadly) force. Which generally someone running away from you isn't an imminent threat.

Anyway, back to talking to the sensible people, if he was stopped for a broken tail light, how come it looks like they were in the middle of a park?

Think it was in a stun gun.

Anyhow, so in the "heat of the moment" , when the man ran 25 yards or so in the opposite direction with his back facing the officer and still in a running away motion, he "in the heat of the moment" felt his life was in danger from a non lethal and close quarters weapon, from again a fleeing man, and shot him 7 times in the back, paused and put a final 8th into to him in self defence?

Again what video did you watch? Quite frankly you've just lost any credibility you had left, not that there was much left anyway.

As freakbro says above back to talking to sensible people.

Shooting someone running away in the back, I mean what was he thinking?

Another dirty mark against the American police, how many more before something is done and these people get proper training.
