Protect and Serve . . . yeah right !

Unless you're a Freeman of the Land!

I DO NOT CONSENT!!!!!

Indeed, but at least unlike other nations we don't appear to be militarising the police. Was involved with police procurement (policy) and saw quite a few discussions on uniform style etc.

Yeah, simply moving to black wicking tops took a bit of convincing around perceived military appearance.

Who exactly is it that has a problem with the police looking slightly more SWAT than Dixon of Dock Green?

All our airports, our major railways stations and most of London during the Olympics are/were policed by heavily armed and very paramilitary looking officers and no-one appeared to care.

It's a new world order and it's called shut up and take it.

Police are there to protect the people but it seems they protect themselves with each other.

Now I cannot comment on US police I have never met any. But this is inexcusable behaviour. I would expect this in a faevela in Brazil or some shady middle eastern country.

Police do not have the power to use lethal force on the populous because they are too lazy to run.

Why was he alone? Why did he get close enough to have his taser taken? It seems like being pulled over for a brake light and escalating to a shooting means he was either up to something or he is incompetent.

I would say the later.

Freddie Gray arrested on trumped up charges as a healthy man of 25 now dead after his spine was 80% severed, no doubt by some pig bending it backwards as they love hurting people without leaving a briuse, tbh I hope some Murkin pigs get killed for the actions of their blue brothers.:mad::mad:

Oh yeah this is why anyone should run from a meeting with a yank cop all Freddie did was look at one and now he's dead.

i think the planting evidence on the body though kinda goes against him just being an honest cop who made a bad choice.

You are allowing your own personal prejudices to cloud your judgement. (As do we all!)

Nobody can look at this clip objectively. every-bodies analysis will be affected by their own prejudices.

"You" see a dirty cop planting evidence, However one could also see a cop recovering his taser before approaching a downed suspect with a view to tasering him (As opposed to putting another clip into him) if he was only pretending to be down and started to struggle.

Once he realised that the suspect was harmless he dropped the weapon before getting the cuffs out. (He dropped it rather than holstering it so that it could be grabbed quickly if necessary)

This is why these sorts of clips are so dangerous for justice. They do present valuable evidence but they never tell the whole story and can be interpreted in many different ways depending on the story that individual interpreters want to tell with them.

he was going to taser a man he had already shot 8 times?

probably better just to use the last 6 bullets?

and after he put his taser down in case he needed it he reported over the radio "he took my taser" ?

then lied in the report saying they performed cpr (on a man who'd been shot in the heart) despite never performing cpr?

Upon reading the last 2 posts it became apparent that it was orionaut who was letting his preconceived notions cloud his view.

i decided not to point out the easily accessible holster designed for quickly drawing a weapon for use is probably the better option than dropping it on the floor of the man you suspect of playing possum if you think you'll need it.

It could be both, your previous post wasn't exactly NPOV...

I'm totally neutral and had no preconceived notions about yank cops until I realised what a corrupt and brutal institution their police force was, sure I'm angry but certainly not prejudiced, anyone who isn't angry about the issue is either weird or a racist who doesn't realise that yank cops beat more whites to death than blacks.

No you are not. The language you use and the wishing of death on any American police officer rather than just the ones responsible show your bias. The fact that you try and justify it either shows you don't recognise it or that you do but don't want to admit it.

Why shouldn't I be angry at the shocking displays of brutality I've watched, the yank cops are no better than any foreign brutal police force, disgusting terrorists who stand behind the blue brotherhood any yank cop who doesn't grass up their institutionally brutal brothers is totally complicit and fully deserving of being charged and imprisoned.

It's not bias - it's an emotional reaction to a series of terrible events seemingly linked by an entrenched attitude or modus operandi of the US police force.

It's excessive, but it's not bias.

I wasn't questioning your emotional response, just pointing out your obvious bias.

I heard there were dignified protests* in Baltimore last night to call for justice for Freddie Gray. Strange there seems to have been a media blackout about it /shrug.

* i.e. riots
