protective plastic, who leaves it on?

Ha ive owned a snap on tool box for 8ish years still has the protective plastic on it, way I see it is I dont have to clean the top. A quick blast of pressurised air and it's done.

I had a friend that had an ipad with the plastic still on. It would annoy me every time I went round there so after about a month I asked to use it, ripped the plastic off and screwed it up so he couldn't try to re-apply it. He was a bit annoyed so I slapped him and told him to get a grip.

Friends don't let friends leave the plastic on

I remember someone at school had an LCD Batman game on which he'd kept the plastic bit on the screen. But that bit of plastic had the complete LCD display illustrated on there, with all the positions - don't know how he played it tbh.

Grinds my gears this with people, it really looks tacky!. Even worse when they leave massive stickers on tvs or hifi gear and it's low spec stuff lol, I mean why???? - Over time it'll leave an outline mark where the stickers have been anyway, so what's the point. I often get the urge (if it's a friend) to remove them, when they leave the room :p

I used to leave it on, but then I realised that there is no point spending £700 on a good looking TV (for example) if you are going to have to look at it with bubbly plastic crap around the outside. :p

Buy it to enjoy it, without the plastic on it, don't buy it to protect it so that the next owner can enjoy it. It makes particularly little sense if you have no intention to sell it.

Though my friend almost had a breakdown when I peeled the protective film off of the screen & buttons on her new DSLR when I was setting it up etc. I tried explaining that I didn't understand, the buttons would be stuck together and the screen wouldn't be of as good-a-quality for reviewing photos, but she was having none of it and claimed she would have kept it on...
