How do :)

I've been going to the gym for about 18 months (3 days a week) and i've got a lot stronger but not much bigger and being a bit of a skinny bugger i'm always on the lookout for ways to bulk up...

A guy at the gym recommended Maximuscle Cyclone saying it was the best all-in-one... well i thought i'd give it a go...

Not gonna win any awards for taste but hey who cares, my question to anyone who knows about this kinda stuff is about how long you use it for...

the problem is its about 30 quid for a 1.2kg tub, and you have 2 60g servings a day which means you will run out in 10 days  - that means we're talking 90 quid each and every month for a shake which to me seems mental!

thing is, i'm willing to pay it and work my ass off while on it but do the results stick? obviously its totally not viable to stay on this stuff at that price but if after 6 weeks its done its job and bulked you up can you then just stop or will you have wasted your £100+ quid?

just wanna put on weight damnit!

Yes the Cyclone stuff is good but tasts like cat wee, Strawberry tasts like a Sour Apple flavour.

Their is another product which contains the same style of mixture (Creatine, Glutamine, Proteins aminos etc etc), called Hurricane, cheaper and more for your money I think.

Nothing puts on weight faster or better than a good diet with some Whey for recovery IMO tho.

A suppliment only suppliments a solid good clean diet.

I get whey protien from Holland and barrett for about £10 per tub (bannana tastes best).... in fact it tastes really nice - my girlfriend blends it with a bannana, ice and milk to make a really thick milkshake for herself. They go on sale every few months so wait for next good deal.
I always have shake 30 mins after gym.

If you want to build muscle you also need to eat loads of good carbs such as veg - brown rice etc. Try to eat as much natural protien as poss... a tub of low fat cottage cheese before bed after a workout that day is best thing you can have. Just have protien shakes post work out.

I need to buy shares in a Supplements company, judging by the amount of posts about whey this and whey that people seem to think that all Arnold did was drink the odd protein shake!

(sorry about the wrong section feel free to move)

so would you say getting some impact whey protein from myprotein and adding stuff such as cottage cheese to my diet would be better than myprotein's MPMax Weight Gainer for example?

to be honest, i'm happy to do anything as long as its healthy and part of a consistent regime i can follow...

There really is a bunch of threads like this already in the sports section, could you not just use the search function a bit and save everyone some typing?

Myprotein.com to a similar mix to Cyclone for a lot less. I think its called Hurricane.

I had a tub of it last year, it tastes like crap but its good stuff. Maximuscle is a brand name you need to pay for

Holland & Barrats sell whey protein powder wayyyy cheaper than that.

Myproteins bulk whey is cheaper, better quality and most people find it tastes better and doesnt leave their stomachs doing flips like the H&B stuff can its crap

This. ^

You'll pack on much more muscle with a proper decent 3500kcal diet than whey will ever do on it's own. It's not a miracle powder, it supplements a decent diet.

And also another vote for MyProtein.

Im currently bulking up a little and detoxing after heavy drinking, an a uni lifestyle have cost me a stone or two.
I follow q simple diet.

I've got some eas protein.

Breakfast of toast or cereal followed by a shake.
Lunch has to be rough carbs, so most vegetable and then some chicken or steak. So normally i have a salad of some kind.
Dinner is split into 3rds. 1/3 protein (fish, chicken, etc) 1/3 carbs (potato, rice pasta) 1/3 veg
Then another protein shake

On workout days, another shake after work out
Workout mon/wed/fri day off inbetween and weekends off
Running on some days off.

The thing that I find funny is the amount of posts about it, people are now thinking "Hmm this Whey stuff sounds like a muscle builder, he has 2 shakes a day i'll have the same", problem is his diet and goals means that he needs x amount of protein which he has decided he will get from a shake to 'supplement' his diet.

That is why you need to read about these things, learn about the how, the why and the where (and as much knowledge as there is in the sports areana I wouldn't say that a computer forum is the best place to be researching).

You are buying an overpriced well marketed product. go buy some bulk unflavoured whey online and see how much cheaper things become.

6 weeks and its done then you are bulked up? Years of hard work in the gym will give you good gains. 6 weeks isnt really enough for a proper roid cycle (pre cycle, cycle, pct would be over 6 weeks iirc).
Do you really think people turn into mass monsters in 6 weeks on all in one MPRs alone? :/

just wanna put on weight? by that you mean lean mass?
EAT PROPER FOOD and lots of it
EXERCISE hard
REST lots

Not the best place, but a great one to start. SA has some very knowledgeable heads and a lot of experience, most of which post on the main other boards that you will find quickly.
