Prototype

Starting to get some bizarre difficulty spikes now, just past half way through. And some of the Events are ridiculously hard most times but then others are way too easy, gold on first attempt.

Am much preferring just roaming around terrorising the city than some of the missions!

Great game! Not had much time to play it recently, but from what I have played the graphics look good and controls are also great once gotton used to. Seems a decent story as well, which i like as it keeps me interested. Would recommend to anyone looking for a new game :)

Am I the only one finding this game boring and unbearably repetitive? There's a lot of stuff to do but everything seems the same, doesn't feel like there's enough variety in the game.

Well it's going to be repetitive to a degree as it's mainly killing but there are lots of other things to do - just wander the city, take in the sites, or do the missions.

Doing the missions is probably the most none-linear way as there's lots of different stuff to do.

Just completed the storyline. That was fun. :D

Although it is somewhat jarring to have Alex's monologue lamenting about what a horrible monster he has become, listening to those radio broadcasts about how the virus was starting to be suppressed, and then have him dumped right back in the city in free roaming mode, where the virus is apparently still rampant.

The game became ridiculously easy once I figured out how to hijack helicopters with my extend-o-tentacle.

I completed story mode today but was getting very stresful with the last missions where every 30 seconds I would have chopters on me. Story wise i though it was quite good.

Without looking through the entire thread, did anyone else have problems getting this past the first load screen?

Bought it on impulse in the Steam deals and so far that's looking like a poor decision as it crashes every single time when trying to start the game (can get into the menu's and change settings etc, never makes it past the load screen to start the actual game though).

Hi all,

I've had this since day of release and have completed the game once.

Since i have some free time i played through again on easy mode ( going through via each hardness seprate)

i've never really carried on playing after i finished the game what is there to do after ?

Smeg .. i did a search and just noticed its PC ...

ive this on 360

Just completed this bad boy, thoughts below:

+Hectic action, probably one of the best games I've played of it's type. Manages to blend free-roaming carnage fairly seamlessly with the missions (in contrast to say, Just Cause)
+Acceptable performance 60fps+ (generally cpu limited)
+Real world location feels good to explore
+Improves as it goes on, initially I wasn't sure if I'd carry on playing it
+Good range of cutscenes although the whole web of intrigue thing gets quite confusing, seeing short snippets from random folk you consume
+Final mission is good, I like the fact that there are many different ways you can approach it e.g. hurling objects, hijacking helicopters, consuming solders to power devastators, or just wade in with your preferred attacks.

-Can get a bit repetitive although buying new upgrades as you progress helps to alieviate this
-Irregular checkpointing, sometimes you get another after 30s of gameplay, at other times (e.g. Elizabeth fight) you are probably talking 10mins+ having to tackle tough sequences and being ultra-cautious to avoid having to start over.
-Side missions are generally dull and repetitive, I didn't bother with that many of them
-Controls a bit awkward at times especially during boss fights when targetting locks on to the wrong enemy
-Some fairly stupid continuity e.g. you are helping Blackwatch defend this device from waves of attacks, then in between waves they just start hosing you down with fire so you have to sprint off down a side street, wait for the monsters to attack and then return
