Providr with 'best' data plans/packages?

I've been looking at moving from Three to another network because despite having a full or nearly-full signal most of the time where I live, the internet speeds are utterly abysmal lately and their customer services are useless. Unfortunately it seems they share a mast with EE because I got an EE PAYG SIM to try and I'm getting the same crap speeds.

I hate mobile networks.

From my research I've found out that Scotland is suffering the most when it comes to network coverage and signal strength. I'm quite lucky as I live near London, so my signal is strong, I'll give 3 a go. Picking up a sim tomorrow, today the weather was terrible... :(

Edit:

Surely no one can beat my giffgaff indoor speeds :p

Moved from O2 last year to 3, best move I ever made. I couldn't even get a 3g signal on most of the UK's major roads with O2, which made using anything that required a data signal almost impossible.

Other than a few spots where there's very thick tree coverage, the signal and data speeds with 3 have been amazing, and I've absolutely hammered the data usage, it really is unlimited :)

My house is surrounded by trees and even people with EE had problems with signal, but I did a quick test and I can get 4G indors. :D

The guy at 3 said that soon they might charge more for this £15 PAYG Plan or decrease data to 1-2GB :/ I'll probably move to EE if this happens.

They were pretty good until recently, never got particularly great speeds but it was fast enough. Last few weeks it's been pathetic (about the same as your speedtest above) and they don't seem interested in fixing it.

Got my PAC code now anyway, just have to decide where to go with it.

Wasn't much better 2 years ago. 0.5mbps (at best) download. When they first started I was getting 6mbps. I use data all the time, was painful

I suffered with giffgaff for a very long time. Data speeds were so slow that even basic internet browsing was slow. I kept hoping they would improve, but gave up in the end. When I changed to EE, it was like I'd got a new phone !

I think the worst thing was how unapologetic they were about it, other than the scripted "I'm sorry about that" response. No offer of refunding me for the data I can't use half the time, no looking further into the matter, they just gave me my PAC code and sent me on my way.

Got PAYG SIMs from O2 (who were rubbish last time I was with them) and Vodafone (who got my bills wrong all the time) on the way so we'll see if their speeds are any better.

My contract is coming to an end next month, been with 3 on an AYCE data, 600 minutes contract.

Thinking of going giffgaff 3G goodybags, they seem to be the best choice in terms of package, or go for the 17 a month sim only from three with AYCE + 200 minutes... but kinda seems expensive...

O2 (most of my family is on this network) and Giff Gaff have been terrific... I'll never go back to O2, 3 is a like a breeze of fresh air in the morning. EE is probably good as well, but I get 12mbs+ from 3 and unlimited DATA is awesome as I use spotify and Waze/Google Maps most of the time.

I'll try and knock them to 15 a month for the AYCE+200mins, if they do that I'll probably grab it.

Don't wanna spend much more than 15...

I finally have signal indoors and even if I don't I can call using WiFi. How good is that? :D I had 4G most of the time today, sometimes it dropped to 3G. My phone is broken though, it had signal issues from the beginning (I tried many different ROM's and mobile networks.)

So on monday that's going in for a swap out, hopefully they'll have Nexus 5 in stock... probably not :(

BTW I'm really curios how EE compares to 3 even though I don't really feel the need to try as 3 is great so far.

My gf was on 3, moved to EE due to unwillingness to reduce price for loyalty on renewal.

Faster speeds is the only upside, though 3 is good enough I find.

Im with 3 and I love it. I use around 20-50gb of data a month on the one plan.

My best speed is below. I had a full 4g signal in Stoke

X47mz6zl.png

Usually I get around 50mbs DL and 20mbs up on 4g and around 15-20mbs up on H

Never had an issue with signal unless really far out into the countryside

Google maps is fantastic now

"ok Google.. Navigate to... "

" navigating to... You are on the fastest route, you should reach your destination by... There are no delays "

Googles voice recognition is amazing now, literally don't have to speak any different to normal. traffic (from waze) is spot on. Only thing out needs is speed limits.

I'm on 3 payg 15ppm

I'm on the £15 PAYG with 3 that has unlimited Data. Its been fantastic so far, 4G outdoors 98% of the time. I can't believe I was with o2 for so long...

My dad wants to upgrade and is thinking of changing the network, not sure if I should recommend him 3 or EE...
