Ps3 controller batteries?

Anyone had any issues with PSP batteries yet? Just thought maybe this would be a good benchmark. I have two PSP's in my household and haven't had a problem with either.

Sony have been making batteries for many products for decades. I recently bought some replacement batteries for my car keys and they were Sony, they are everywhere and in everything. The only problem I can think of is the recent Dell/Apple battery recalls but then when you consider how many batteries they must make and over how long a period they have been doing it this is a very very problem when put in perspective.

and no Kojak, I seriousley cannot see Sony SELLING refurbished controllers. More likely they will replace the battery in controllers sent back, give em a quick refurb and then send them out to replace the ones sent in to them for replacement.

Personally, I would rather have a controller which I can recharge straight out of the box and take the chance that it may die in years to come rather than having to go out and spend another £15 on a play n charge kit because it's not even included.

Like many people I have two controllers for both my PS3 and my 360. To buy a second PS3 controller will set you back about £35.00 RRP but to buy a second 360 controller it's £35.00 + £15 for play n charge kit + £10 for second rechargable battery so £60 in total.

So now who's trying to make extra money from the consumers on peripherals?

lol dont even go there joebob , i have a feeling this thread will get messy now the 360 pad and its ugly battery compartment has been mentioned :p

This got very tedius around Energizes 3rd post.

A very fanboyish approach if you ask me.

Taking digs at products without known problems, But taking stabs at their solutions for possible future problems. I mean isnt getting a free replacement controller when the batteries die better than going out and spending money on new batteries for your controller when they die?

Seems a strange and warped thread to me.

Not everyone feels like they should blindly think nothing at all can be wrong with a system they like

True, but in same light that 360 owners don't like to admit that their system has major design and manufacturing flaws that lead to the above averagre failure rate for the system then likewise for ps3 owners don't like to admit to it's flaws.
From my own perspective the ps3 flaws are that games are thin on the ground ( something that will be remedied with time ) and the lack of rumble ( something that wil also be fixed sooner rather than later ), I can live with these and as I have stated when ms sort out the reliability issue with the 360 ( having suffered at the hands of this issue multiple times ) I for one will run out and get another as I still really liked and enjoyed the system, but in terms of system faults ( breakdowns etc ) the 360 is miles ahead of ps3, but 360 is ahead of ps3 in games.

Lol fanboyish? When I don't own a 360 and wii, shows how much you know. I would rather have AA batteries then be without a controller for 2 weeks while sony replace it. Believe it or not the ps3 isn't perfect.

Troll is a better word :D

Asking a question is another word. As much as you may love the ps3, it does have flaws. I knew it wouldn't take long for the thread to go downhill with sony fans flaming anyone who dares to question the ps3s perfection. It's like the official playstation forums in here.

tbh mate, you're complaining for the sake of it, i should know, i love to do it also. borrowed my m8's xbox 360, i've already gone through one set of batteries. its completely and utterly ridiculous to put a wireless controller in the premium pack and not put a rechargable battery in, its a complete pisstake, its hiding the true cost of the console. because you either buy a rechargable and a charger, or spend 20 times as much on normal batteries over a year or two.

its stupid how much the charger costs, batteries, well from other devices, you can understand their cost, almost, but the charger kits, just because its branding and crap it costs way more than it should. its a plug and wire nothing more, it should cost the maybe 50p it costs to produce. likewise the 360 wireless adaptor, official usb one and only one that works afaik, its £56 or something retarded. while for a computer you can buy a usb wireless, or bluetooth or whatever stick for like £15 these days. also quadroupled the price purely because it says M$/360 on it. when are people going to official boycott "official" accessories until the companies stop using them as an "official" way to steal our money?

I'd just be happy if there was a 3rd party controller than accepted aa batteries, since you can get packs of 4 rechargeable 2500mah ones for £2, which charge in 15mins and last for ages.

Didn't you jump the gun when buying the PS3 then? Shouldn't you really of researched the spec and what it has to offer before buying and then complaining?!

Seems silly to me.

I haven't bought it yet, far too high price. And almost no exclusive games.

The entire first page of this thread was filled with you energize complaining abot problems that didnt exist.

It hasn't been out long enough to determine that. The battery lifespan is unknown and sonys replacement scheme has not been tried out yet either.

Exactly, so what are all the threads about?! Just guessing...

Just why didn't they allow AA batteries or replacement packs like the 360? Anyone can see it's another attempt to suck ps3 fans dry.

they probably didnt want little kiddies chewing on the batteries, playstation has never been aimed solely at 30yr old geeks.

So you don't own either a PS3, 360 or Wii and think that makes you exempt from being a fanboy???

I don't think you get what a lot of people are saying on this thread. They aren't defending Sony for the sake of it or because they are fanboys but rather can't see the point in you complaining about a problem which doesn't yet, and moght not ever, exist. It would be like me complaining that my 360's DVD drive could fail ejecting the disc at speed and lobbing my cats head off - theoretically it could happen but probably never will ;)

Yes because I don't have anything to be a fanboy of. What am I a fanboy of exactly, critising the ps3?

Maybe a 3 year old might chew on a battery, not that 1.5v is going to kill anyone, but that is why electronics aimed for children have a screw on the battery section. Though at £425 it's not really aimed at 3 year olds.
