PS3 DIRT DEMO

Wow!

This is a totally different game now!

I hated the Xbox demo of this game, it ran awful, felt cumbersome and i hated the over use of blur and HDR/Bloom.

The PS3 version runs very well, not sluggish anymore. Better colours imo. The blur is toned down, it actually looks good now.

The main reason i hated the 360 demo was the framerates, this is much better!

Only bad thing is that i noticed a few jaggies, not that major though.

My thoughts exactly.

I get them from lovefilm, though you might have better success at swapgame

Thinking of signing up to Lovefilm myself, the £12.99 package with 2 rentals at a time and unlimited per month sounds tempting. The plan's to rent a blu ray and a game at a time, the blu ray will be watched then sent back, the game kept for a while. That's the plan anyway! I've seen some 3 month free trial thing kicking about somewhere too... Is it a nice and quick service? Any problems with availability?

I set two lists up, one with movies, one with games, so i've always got 1 game and 1 blu-ray. Quality of service has been fantastic for me, couldn't recommend them enough.

i've never noticed these bad frame rate problems with the 360 version, yeah it dips sometimes but doesn't ruin the game what so ever. I must have bad eyes or something.

I compared it to the PC version, running on the same TV, and the PC version did have brighter colours, I'd put this down to the digital vibrance ;)
I don't think it'll be the digital vibrance as that's desktop only isn't it? (I'm 99% sure it says that)

It wasnt so much the dips with the 360 version, it was the constant all the time low framerate. To me it felt as if it was running at 20FPS or even less throughout.

You may not of noticed it as it was constant, like PGR3, most people thought it ran at more as it was smooth.

The games industry is having trouble with the 7 baby CPU's that the PS3 uses and the graphics processor is a complete pile of pap for todays games.

Sad to say this is going to have a knock on effect for other consoles because where games used to be developed side by side I'm hearing more and more that because of the PS3's limitations it has to be the lead platform. This means of course that its highly likely your XBox360 game will be a port of a PS3 game in the future rather than the other way around.

How strange, seems Epic have really got the hang of it with the upcoming UT3, codemasters have also provided a 'better than the 360 version' of DiRT So how can this be when the PS3's GP is a 'pile of pap'?

Had any comparisons yet?
Not sure about official comparisons, but from my experience (and loads of others on here) the PS3 version runs smoother with hardly, if any tearing and no FPS dips, the overdone bloom has now been sorted too.

Is this any good then? cba to download it to find out :p

I must say the trailer impressed me, I'm just lazy.. meh, it's the weekend
