the stuff about 7200rpm drives and the ps3 overheating, slowing down ect, its all rubbish.
there's a thread on the sony forums that details the differences between the drives, including the speed
increases and the temperature increase of a whole...get this... 2c. 2c ffs, thats less the increase of moving your ps3 to somewhere on the equator and you dont see people from those regions moaing about over heating.
i use a 3.5" seagate 250gb drive as my internal with the use of a little sata adaptor and i can tell you right now loading times are faster. its not a massive difference but its still 10% or more depending on what its doing. plus it means i pay less for my hard drive upgrade than you would for your 2.5" drives.
on the subject of space used, ive used about 58gb and it's all games and demos. no music or video. its certainly easy to make use of the space!
Is this storage issue becoming a more common experience for you guys and for those of you that have already replaced your HDD can you arrange your files of music/videos in any better way on a seperate drive as Sonys folder options on the internal are rather imited.
well, yes and no. with an external drive you can at least press triangle and view the drive by file structure instead which obviously allows you to arrange data any way you like. other than that though, no not really. no thumbnails ect and its still slow navigating a folder with a lot of entries.
