Yep flora day, with all those silly people dressed in white dancing like loonies, atleast that's how they did it when I was there. Have some shocking photos, not me though, I was too busy pushing people over in the boating lake at the bottom of town :)

I don't seem to remember this place, the only arcade I can remember is the one up off the main street, by where the Helston Gazette used to be. I used to go to Halfpenny park in Wendron I think it was? V1N you do realise there is a distinct chance that we actually know each other...

Yeah, pushing people in the boating lake is part of Flora Day, or just falling in due to the amount of beer you can drink on that day. Great laugh.

Yep, Ha'penny park was my favourite place to visit when I was in school. It was there I broke the Space Harrier world record, and used to spend copious amounts of 10ps on Outrun, Afterburner... ah, and Star Wars, Tron/Discs of Tron, Mr Do... and and and... many many great games up there.

Yep, we could well know each other.
It's a small world, but an even smaller county.. and Helston... well, not one of the largest cities on Earth! ;)

V1N.

Well we'll have to have a natter through PSN when I eventually get myself a headset (all the yank kids on live put me off voice comms forever) Will probably pick one up with warhawk and get spawned to death by rp.

Ive been to helston a few times my nan loves it! Can only really remember an old skool sweet shop that sold those cherry lips that taste like soap (but are somehow really nice!) and that old toy shop with the trains/scalatrix room half way up the stairs lol i was about 10 tho, think they sold like swiss army knifes n that on the first floor! I use stay in a place called New Town, St Martins i think.

That toy shop closed last year.
It had been open since 300BC, and always looked the same.
All the kids, and adults who grew up around Helston all knew it, and would top and watch the trainset going around in the Window. Anyway, end of an era, they closed this year, and I think it's being turned into flats or some crap.

Old school sweet shop is still there though, selling Cornish fudge and so.

New Town in St Martins, yep, that's a village about, phew I dunno 10 milesish outside of Helston.
