Its michael pachter, no one actually listens to him anyway. They put him on these game shows and blogs just to rage the fanboys due to the extremely uninformed BS he is constantly pooring out into the open.

He is a so called industry analyst that seems to ignore the traditional way of doing research, and instead guesses how the industry is at any one time.

Just cos the console is specifically designed to game does not mean it is superior. After all, a console really is just a compact PC (to some extent).

I know for a fact that the PS3 graphics on the COD series cannot be compared to my PC.

I think that some of the stuff that Pachter comes out with is decent but I was kinda surprised to hear this one...

But I think he inadvertently makes a (possibly slightly tired) point that to the layman the current gen of consoles have finally reached a level where they can't be distinguished or that people just don't care.

I don't think so to be honest. Just watched that section and it seems to me that they clearly fall under 'the layman' categorisation themselves...

Truly lol worthy TBH.

Yes, no PC is as powerful as a PS3, even with an amazing "Dual quad core" chip that we are all obviously longing for! :p

What an idiot. Never mind the massive modding scene and the dedicated server support, as well as digital media delivery systems such as Steam.

The only thing I'd ever consider buying a console for now is the sports games and maybe one or two exclusives that they get. Fifa on PC is a joke at the moment because apparently some kids in South America can't handle the next gen Fifa engine on their Pentium 3's. Boo ****ing hoo.

i really feel the urge to rant about the pc and ps3 now but i will redtrain.

the mans an idiot and im sick to the back teeth of this god damn piracy crap, only platform that really doesnt have an issue with piracy is the ps3, god damn xbox is as bad as the pc.
i still strive to convert as many console users to pc as i can, my opening line will now forever be..... our hardware wont match up to a ps3 but you can have a damn sweet keyboard :D
 
I have 2 consoles.
The PS3 is my DVD, media and Blu-Ray system. Doesnt get used to game. A controller is just crap for gaming (Apart from driving games). I can plug controllers into my PC, but not k/b and mouse into a console for gaming.
The Wii is fun.

Exactly the same here. I use my PS3 for watching DVDs and Blu-rays and for streaming video files from my PC so i can watch on my HDTV.

If theres a game thats available for PC or PS3 then I get it for the PC. Ive just bought Grid and Resi 5 for very decent prices from Steam and they run perfectly and with the 360 pad and wireless receiver its just like playing on the console.

I think with Steam and the way its so easy to purchase games now, PC gaming wont die. Also being able to use the 360 pad with ease is a huge plus. I remember years ago it was a nightmare trying to configure my sidewinder pad to work with my PC games. Now you just install the game, turn the pad on and you're away.
 
Two of my brothers have PS3s and gave up PC gaming a long time ago because apparently they didn't have time to deal with PCs (noobs), but it's quite comical to see their reaction when they play the same games they play on the PS3 on my rig. Resident Evil 5 is a excellent recent example of this. The difference is quite shocking and can't really be conveyed in any other way other than experiencing it for yourself.

I think the main problem is that most people have underpowered, poorly setup and ergonomically lacking systems, hence they automatically think it represents 'PC gaming'.

Yeah sure it costs more, but the end experience you get with a decently setup PC is priceless imho.
 
Are these guy serious? How clueless can you get, console gamers do my head in, just
because they do not understand real competitive play.

Oh and them slagging l4d2 off, ITS A PC GAME get over it dumb console nabs. Game play is very bad on p2p,
and the whole point is dedicated servers, mods and all that, why did you post that just to rage me out :P
