I thought that was just for the 360 though. Don't think it works on the ps3, or at least i've not seen anyone that says it definately does

Tried the beta on my brothers PS3, seemed to work.

PS3 media server works fine on 360 too, At least it does on windows, no need for anything else

Can't seem to get it to work? It doesnt find the PS3 for some reason.

Ignore that. Media Server was turned off on ps3... the shame

Do you have to upload files or anything or does it just create a link to the Hard drives?

on the mac it automatically shares your entire drive

Worked perfectly. Watched a brief part of a Full HD film with mkv file. Looked amazing.

Thanks OP for the recommendation as I have tried this before and failed.

Cheers for this! Me and a mate spent ages last year getting that torrent thing with the frog to try and do this (one of our flat mates did it once and made it work)

Works fine for most of my files, but struggles with 1080p high bit rate movies over wireless, which is probably to be expected?

yeah thats the wireless that struggles rather than the software. I have my router on the window ledge and a cable going to the PS3 and the Xbox, streams 1080p HD no problem.

Me my brother and my dad all have Shuttles using it. Absolutely brilliant. Theres bits I'd like it to do (like store a thumbnail of images instead of it creating them on the fly. Having all my 20MP wedding photos stored on there doesnt help.) and some other bits, but since i dont know how to help add them i cant complain!

I love ps3mediaserver too but recently been having problems when all of a sudden it decides to start playing back at twice normal speed? Tried to pause and restart and it goes right back to the beginning of the movie again?
