ps3 or 360 ?

Ive got both and if i had to pick just one it would probably be the PS3 even though ive got a Blu-ray player sat next to it, i just prefer the exclusive games that have come out on the PS3 to the 360.

Saying that the controller for the 360 is a lot better than the PS3 but I prefer the PS Move over the Xbox Kinect.

Not sure if its been mentioned yet but online play on the PS3 is free where as on the 360 you have to have an XBox live gold account which is £30 to £40 per year.

Its a very hard job to say which is better than the other though ...... just get both :)

Get both.,.

I'd start with a second hand 360 Elite 120Gb (£100 or less) with 1 years XBL for £31...

Then later on when PS3's no doubt drop the price well below £200, then grab one of them too..

You really can't go wrong with either, although if you have a particular genre of game you are more tied to, then you might want to carefully look at which supplies that better..

I prefer the PS3 myself, But if you're coming into the game at this late stage, and you've never experienced either. I would say get a 360. They can be had very cheap and with a massive catalogue of games which will be dirt cheap too.

Bioshock, Gears of war, Dead Rising, Crackdown and Mass Effect 1 can be had for less than a tenner each. And those are 5 brilliant games.

I would say the PS3 unless all your mates have 360s and online game on them e.g. COD etc.

You can pick up 360 style controllers for the PS3 as well for ~ £20 and these make a big difference if you don't like the PS pads.

but he can get all those games on the PC for super dirt cheap. He has a really good pc.

If you own a good pc that can play all the games, then he should be looking at the exclusive games on the consoles.. imo.

I own a 360 and a PS3, however i found myself playing nearly all of the 360 'exclusives' on my PC. My 360 is over a friends house atm and has been for a few months.

These are purely my own experiences and by no means how everyone else will feel. I agree with Robert, if you own a PC, the PS3 is generally the logical choice as it gives you access to the largest catalogue of titles overall.

Extremely good point, never noticed his sig.ps3 it is, a bit of a no brainer when you put your existing pc into the equation. :)

This is such an age old discussion and to tell you the truth which you pick doesn't matter. Pick the console were your friends are at and stick with that.

Some points that I have made.

- The xbox 360 is much more user friendly and appealing to the community
- PS3 controller is more responsive
- The coding for games such as Call Of Duty is slightly better graphically because of the platform favoruitism
- xbox comes with a headset so that means in team based games you get the working together vibe
- xbox live is a membership fee but you get what you pay for

You're forgetting two other good PS3-exclusive series there, Killzone & inFamous.

Buy both if you want to play all the major titles :p
I tend to use by ps3 more of late as it has more exclusives i want to play, used to be my xbox
Xbox sits there unless my brother is playing pes mainly due to buying cross platform games on pc rather than either console for the most part.

swings and roundabouts really

1. What does your friends have? Pick that.
2. If you still can't decide, have a look at the exclusives.

Should make a sticky with this as it's asked probably 10 times a month.

I have both and wouldn't like to choose one over the other but I had an interesting scenario happen over the weekend. My nephew came over to stay at the weekend and he wanted to play Black Ops on-line. So I created him an account on PS3 and he was up and playing in no time at all for free. Now that is something you just can't do on the XBOX for free.

And it's OK saying Live is only £30+ a year but when you've got a Wife and Kids who all want accounts it's quite expensive!
