hi people i have currently got a 360 and am quite enjoying it but ive got abit of money spare and want to get into the whole high definiton dvd thing. so the question is do i get the hd dvd add on for my 360 or the other option which i quite fancy is to get the ps3 which would mean putting 150 towards it. (after 360 trade in +few games) and get the blu ray disk drive plus i quite like the ps3 what would u do?

if you're into gaming then id keep your 360 and get the hd-dvd add-on (can be had pretty cheaply now).

If your not into gaming but are into movie watching, get the PS3.

If you are into gaming and realy want blu-ray then save up until you can afford a ps3 in addition to your 360, because thats the ideal solution.

Theres a handful of good games for it that make it worth buying, Virtua Fighter 5, Motorstorm, Ninja Gaiden, are all great games.

Its maybe a welsh handful, but a handful none the less :p

I'm certain that Blu-Ray will win the HD war, i'd say the PS3 is a safer bet if your a movie fan, games wise the 360 is still the winner, but the games are coming now for the PS3...

All depends if you want games right this minute or are prepared to just get a couple per month.

I had Motorstorm and played it loads when it was originally release in Japan (got it imported), I then got the US version with online and again played it a fair bit. Havent touched it for months though until I thought I would stick it on again the other day and I'm finding it real fun to play thorugh again. It's just such a good fun game. :)

Have a look at the games coming out for the systems. TBH if you are picking an HD media format personally i think Blu-Ray is the better choice. And as Blu-Ray players go, the PS3 is probably the best on the market, and will probably continue to be. With all the firmware updates the PS3 is getting and just about everyone has included yet another improvement to its Blu-Ray playback capabilities, it is the sensible choice.

As far as games go ATM the PS3 is lacking a bit, but tbh there should be enough games to see you through the next couple of months then the good stuff like Heavenly Sword will come along (And HS looks yummy!)

Seriously it is up to you and what you really want from a machine. If you want a Hi-Def media player that also plays games, then tbh the PS3 is perfect for you.

OK well firstly although there isn't a huge catalogue IMO the PS3 has certainly enough games for the casual gamer (i.e. buys 1/2 a month).

As for movies, look at what is out for each format, and what's coming.

There will be many better Blu-ray players out in the future and they'll be cheaper too. Look what happened to DVD. The PS2 was one of the first to get on board DVD and it plays them like sweaty ass compared to players that came out later that were less than half the price.

Don't spend £350+ for something that will be worse than a £150 player in a year.

I've just started playing mine again, and IMO it's one of the most fun racing games available on any system :) Online has me hooked

Keep meaning to play motorstorm again! I got the updates had a play then i got some other games and not touched the game for a month or so! Cant wait till the new tracks and cars are released in August (according to E3 conference)

a) The PS3 is very good BD player

b) In a year the PS3 will also be an excellent games console
