PS3 or Wii?

I've got a Wii and a 360 at the moment but the Wii really isnt holding my interest. Apart from Mario Galaxy which is a truely excellent game, there isn't much that appeals to me personally, not until Smash Brothers and Mario Kart are released. I'm now seriously considering the PS3 mainly as a BR player but for games such as MGS4, GT and Uncharted. I would personally opt for the PS3 as I feel it offers more for your money as well as being a BR player you are getting a lot for your cash. I guess it's what appeals to you as an individual but my Wii was only bought a few months ago and it's now gathering dust.

ive got a steering wheel and joystick so racing is a lot better on pc for me with all the force feedback from it etc. Pc would be crap for them if you didn't have a steering wheel then. But im not talking about price when i say playing games on pc is better then consol. and yes i agree sport games are better on consol but i dont like them anyway. As for platformers, what sort of games are we talkign about?

I always felt that controls wise, any 3rd person games felt wierd on the PC. And although i love them, I much prefer them on a console with a pad. Tombraider, MGS, GTA and other similar games, All look fine on PC. But are let down by the control method. I feel that anyways, Where as my brother loves GTA on PC, I think he can overlook the controls though, because he just likes modding the cars.
 
If it's a strict choice I'd go with the PS3, purely because it can play movies..

Both are good if you get the right games though (Mario Galaxies, Drake's Fortune), so it depends if you already have a HD ready TV.

^^^ missed this post.

i used to be an avid css player till igot banned stupidly on my favourit server for being under 18! On tesside italy server i was rank 2 wid the Ak out of 300,000 people and i think it was around 150 points fron rank 1 and i got banned and i was like tahts ive had enough with css lol. Plus the rank 1 guy with the m4 called elton was a total jerk who said id never reach rank 1 and always claimed to be better even tho id kill him over and over again. i think he made sure i got banned or somthing pfft.

Italy is the best map by far i think.

I know its my opinion but i can only really see positives for pc if you take money out of the equation.
 
Just to follow up my previous post. Purchased a PS3 tonight with Motorstorm and Uncharted and I am extremely happy with my purchase! Mainly got it for the Blu-Ray functionality but I couldn't resist picking those two games up for it. Will post impressions tomorrow! :D

Heh, I got banned from the Teesside servers before despite being a student there and playing with a couple of the admins at a few LANS.

The PC has a lot of positives, but a unified gaming service, friends lists, messaging lists etc.. would be a lot better. Gaming online over Xbox Live is better than PC online has ever been due to some of the benefits of a unified service, the only thing is it would have to be free and servers would need to be dedicated.

As for PC gaming, I prefer sitting back and enjoying myself on a HDTV than hunching over a desk and playing on a PC, especially as I spend so much time on PC's anyway it's nice to have the break from it to play. I really enjoy playing with a control pad, I like the effort it is to aim correctly, to draw aim onto an enemy, predict his movement and shoot... though of course, in competative MP games such as Counter-Strike, Quake 3 or Unreal Tournament then Mouse and Keyboard is hard to beat, but something like Call of Duty 4 with a completely level playing field is superb.

It's different strokes for different folks I think, but I refuse to limit myself to only one method of play, be it only one console or only PC. That's why I have everything :p.

Good choice. Those are the 2 exclusives I rate on the PS3. If you've not got an Xbox360 then pick up The Darkness.

Congrats mate enjoy your purchase, dont forget to add your User name to the PS3 ID thread ( give inoshishi more to do lol). Also dont forget to have a look at the PS3 faqs as you will want/need to make a US PSN account to access the far superior US PSN store. Have fun enjoy your Bd player, games console, media centre and room heater.
 
Thanks guys! Think I will have to play the games tomorrow as I am downloading Tekken online at the moment and it's taking an age on the g/f's connection! Will definately have to setup a US account, can I do this on the PS itself? On the US store can I use my Visa Debit card or will I have to buy some of the point cards? Thanks!

Yeah, I had played on The Darkness at my mates house few months back, really enjoyed what I played of it, the intro was excellent anyway!
 
You should pick it up if you don't have it then, I've seen it for £20 new on the high-street, so I'm sure you could get it even cheaper.

isn't the keyboard and mouse coming to the consoles anyway? im sure xbox have something in the making for halo as you can already do pc against xbox cant you? Id imagine halo online is ruined for those with controlers against keyboards and mice.

As for a nice big tv, yes that is what i do like bout consols. I got an xbox 360 and i only have a few games on it. wish id of got a PS3 because all games on xbox seem to come out on PC and if id of got a ps3 id of got blue ray. But im glad i got an xbox just because of mass effect. Annoyingly i got gears of war and consiquently have just ruined it for getting it on pc lol.

As for xbox live, i understand that having 1 universal game/chat/thingy is really good. But its not that essensial, i mean how many people have team speak, ventrilo and xfire? its practicaly universal anyway and the need for dedicated servers, 64man servers, no lag and fast downloads for patchs far outways any consol internet gaming as far as im conserned. Although the cheating does put a downer on things.

using a controller does feel more relaxed with the sticks, but im a competitive gamer i play to come first :p

what are some good games for xbox?
