Xbox Premium = £280
2nd Wireless Controller = £32
WiFi Adadptor = £60
12 month Xbox Live Subscription = £40
PGR3 = £50

That's a total of £462 if I want to play it online/with a mate. I'm sure you could knock off £20 or so if I bought online, but it's still a lot of money once you've bought all the accessories you need.

Can lose the extra controller and the wireless adapter and knock at least 10 quid off of PGR3 as I pay no more than £39.99 for my games.

As for the poll, we'll be getting a PS3 this Christmas.

Xbox Premium = £260 (certain places online)
2nd Wireless Controller = £30
WiFi Adadptor = £40
12 month Xbox Live Subscription = £25
PGR3 = £40

Make that £395.

My god, thats taking it to the extreme for sure. You can get bundles with all that stuff. You don't need to spend £40 on Live (I spent £20, got a game, and a headset as well as the 12 month subby).

If it's not against the competition rules, would you mind posting links? The cheapest I've seen the WiFi adaptor is £55 and I haven't seen anywhere doing the console for less than £280. I haven't even seen any decent bundles, without having to buy games that I'm not interested in.

Either way if you add all that stuff, you have to add it all to the PS3 as well.

Read my original post. This is the reason why I won't be buying a PS3 until it falls in price. :)

I'm gonna get one, yes. I'm moving away from PC gaming now I'm more convinced consoles can give me what I want from a multiplayer point of view. I'm undecided as to when I'm getting one, or if I should take the plunge elsewhere until either a) The price drops a little or b) A 'key' title is released (read: a new Final Fantasy). I have a degree of brand loyalty to the Playstation though, as both the PS1 and PS2 have been great purchases.

Voted undecided, as I could have been any combination of the others :p

Hmm i wont bother getting one tbh, its just sony charging an arm and leg as usual for their products and i absolutely refuse to pay such extortionate amounts even though i could easily afford one no problem

So really im sticking with my xbox360 and if anything ill be getting the nintendo REVOLUTION, sorry sony you just shot yourself in the foot with the prices tbh.
So my votes would be 2,3 and 5 really.

Tbh i shelled out almost £600 for my xbox setup...but then i did buy 3 games, an extra wireless controller, a wifi adaptor, 2 plug and charge kits, 64mb memory card...just in case my hd goes belly up.

a lot of money yes but was it worth it??...Oh yessssssssss indeedy and now that i have a HD LCD TV it makes it much much more worthwhile.

So, now I'm very tempted to go out and buy a Xbox 360 straight away. The problem I've got is that a lot of people on internet forums have been saying how amazing the Xbox 360 is, yet the game reviews on GameTab have been mixed at best. For example, there's been a lot of talk about how 2006 FIFA World Cup is the best FIFA game ever, but the average review score is only 64%! Battlefield 2: MC has also won high priase by some forum-goers, but again the average review score is pretty poor. Even PGR3 doesn't exactly get a score worthy of splashing out £450. It seems like the Xbox 360 has been hyped up way beyond what it is.

Problem there mate is that everyone has different tastes when it comes to games, well i know i do. Much like music and moveis if you think about it, thats why i never ever pay any attention to these review sites. For instance like you said Fifa 2006 is supposedly the best fifa game out, personally i dont even like footie games but i did pick up a copy of it to see what its like...after 5 mins i was bored silly of it...yes it looks all pretty like but it didnt interest me.
So i wouldnt judge the 360 on what the review game sites say about it.

Heres the wireless adapter for £44: http://www.kayslifestyle.co.uk/psnl..._search=xbox+360&fh_eds=%df&fh_refview=search

You can buy an XBOX 1 Starter Kit with Project Gotham 2 Game and 12 months Live subscription (works with 360 fine) for £24.99. Can't say where as I believe we can't mention them here.

Can't say link the £259.99 Premium 360 as they sell computer items too. But HMV are offering 10% off first purchase with their store card. Think they do a Premium and GRAW bundle for £299, so you pay £270. Or, just get the console for £252. Just remember to pay the balence off within 30 days and just cancel the card.

if you sign up for a points card(free) you'll also get £15 of your next purchase. You can use it there and then and get the wireless controller for less.

Thanks for the heads up, needed another :)

I voted its to expensive, already got a 360, besides it doesn't matter as everyone knows the PS3 will sell in absolute droves regardless of price and wipe out every other console, because its called a Playstation, on the name alone they won't fail. :(

Im on neither side of the fence on this one, i think the price of the 60gb is overpriced, as from the rumours ive head the 20gig package wont come with hdmi correct?

As i already own a HDTV (1080i) i would want to go for a console that supported the HD. But i wont be paying £410 for it.

The thing is, if I remember from the Sony conference correctly, they worded the details about their online service quite cleverly, and didn't actually say very much at all about playing multiplayer games against your friends etc, and didn't say what you got for free at all for your online service. That's were I think they'll start charging people for it.

Currently, I'm undecided. I'd like one, but it would need to be the HDMI version, so the silly expensive version.

Plus there are currently no games that I want on it... bar MGS4.

There isn't an option for my view.

I'll buy one, but only if there's something that appeals to me about the console and that I don't think any of the others does.

I only bought a PS2 about 2 years ago, sole purpose was to play GTA:SA, no other reason.

So unless or until some killer game comes out, I'll keep my money.

I have a feeling the price of Ps3 might be slashed sooner than expected. If the release date is set for november, im sure MS wont fold their hands - they gonna slash the price of the 360 so as to undermine Ps3 sales. Who knows if sony might reconsider on the price.....who knows.

thing is ms have boatloads of cash, im sure they said they were prepared to make massive losses this generation to kill sony next time round, though i could be wrong

iirc sony are losing more than ms for each console produced, so until production increases they may be unwilling to drop the price

anyway we will see when it launches, im sure it will do well
