PS3 Position

Does it in anyway make any difference which way you have your PS3 ?
Standing or lying flat ?

To be honest I don't think it makes a difference. I have mine flat because that's the way it fits into my Hi-Fi cabinet.

I got two PS3's and ones stood on its side and ones flat. Makes no difference at all!

It's not like the 360 where you risk disc scratching by having it vertical, thank goodness.

i find with the slim ps3 it looks like it might be a bit unsteady on its side? , ive never tried it as i have mine flat.

Can the slim do both, like the phat?

not really. my phat is vertical, but the slim is flat -> not wide enough at the base to be steady in vert pos, unless you have some sort of stand for that

Seriously, what difference did you think it would make? Do you honestly think they would design it to sit two different ways if one adversely affected the machine?

The OP probably wondered if the cooling was better in one position over the other. Whatever the case it would only be a couple of centigrade at the very most so it's not even worth considering. As you say, it would have to be a pretty poor piece of hardware if it worked brilliantly in one position but terribly in another.
