PS4 specs?

I don't think that Bluray belongs to Sony. There is Bluray disk association f which Sony is of the "board of directors" along with LG, Apple, etc. I would be surprised if the next Xbox didn't use Bluray.

Indeed, most definitely not a Sony owned product :p People often bash the 360 for not using BR, but remember when the 360 launched, BR as a format (v1) was far inferior to HD-DVD in every way, and the read times were twice as slow as those found in the PS3 (which are still too slow). Not a viable medium for use in a game console at all.

My bets are a muticore PowerVR rogue chip possibly with the RTX ray tracing chip expansion which should be ready in time. Most likely somewhere between 8 to 16cores for the GPU.

EDIT: This is assuming a late 2013 most likely 2014 timeframe. If we are talking early 2013 scarp the RTX ray tracing part.

It'll be a Cell processor no doubt about that. Rest of the setup I dont know. Why would they scrap the Cell now its come so far? SDKs are miles from what they were in the early life of the PS3. When the developers were still learning.

PS3 had trouble walking in the beginning yes, But now its in a full sprint. Upping the hardware power while keeping the same architecture will be Sonys best move.
