and still on topic i hope, a friend of mine bought an iphone believing all the gumph, had it for a year and was a real iphone fanboi, always telling me it was the best phone ever and i should get one... until he managed to break it. bought a cheap smart phone by another company (wont say which one to avoid hassel) and comes round the next week telling me how amazing it is and how he can do so much more with the supposedly worse one. i remember how impressed he was that you could tether the phone to a laptop for mobile internet for free....
now he wont shut up about how rubbish apple is!

I've been doing that with my iphone for ages though, how come he couldn't?
you can't unless you're jailbroken, and even then with my 3G it was flakey at best
