I have just ordered an HD 7950 to add to my new build which consist of,
i5 3570k
Z77-D3H
8gb corsair vengeance
120Gb SSD
1Tb sata 3
DVD RW
Powercool 550w modular PSU
After speaking to members on here i now realise that psu is a cheap generic psu and needs to be replaced which i will be doing in 2 weeks time. What i want to ask is will i be ok running that system with the HD7950 for a couple of week on that psu until i get to order a new one in a couple of weeks time?
Are the chances that if i do and run graphical hungery games I'll just get crashes and shut downs as the psu wont be able to deliver enough power? Or could it be more serious? I have just phoned the supplier of the powercool psu from where i purchased it and they said if the psu does go down and take out any other components it will be covered under warranty.
Thanks
