Small case or case with poor airflow, then reference card!
Large case or case with good airflow, then Infinity is fine!

I had a CiT 750 Watt PSU, many years ago, it went *snap crackle pop* after 6 Months use, lucky for me a quality Asus Motherboard sved the components.
I wouldn't use a CiT PSU even for a bottom of the barrel budget build, its always best to spend that extra £20 / £30 on a quality PSU.
Your board would be grand with either. It's one i used before with non ref 670's and temps were good due to it's two slot gap between cards in sli.Im thinking going sli two after a bit when i can afford it so which one now ?

I remember when Superflower were the Matsui of the PSU world...I bought a 450w one about 10 years ago when I was naive enough to think that big wattage at a low low price was a good thing (450w being more than ample in them days). Imagine my joy at it going pop and taking out my motherboard and raid 0 setup. Imagine my surprise to find them resurface years later as a premium brand.
How times change eh
I don't know exact details but the current consumer PSU side of Superflower isn't the same one as their original consumer PSU division - sometime around 2005 it was spun off the enterprise side of the business.
I still wouldn't personally put them in the same league as Seasonic, Delta, etc. but their current offerings seem fairly decent.
So, Gibbo, are these ChIT PSUs worth buying for my new HW-E rig?
Only got £19.99 left, so it's really the only option
Too late!
We have removed from sale, our Hungarian division have professional PSU testing equipment which revealed it's actually a 250W unit and some very questionable components, after 37 minutes it exploded when requesting over 300W draw.
We've removed from website and will only sell them to those who are happy to order them after we've told them it's a very bad idea and we won't be held responsible for them exploding, burning your house down etc. etc.
Hahahahaha burning the house down! This thread sure did cheer me up Gibbo and it was born from my coilwhine thread, see if anything we all got a laugh out it
Having recently replaced an old seasonic built corsair HX 850 for the 1000w sf platinum unit in sig, i gotta say im immensely pleased with it. Well built, and much quieter than the HX.I'd say they have definetely surpassed Seasonic now both on an engineering level and reliability.
PMSL...Too late!
