Hi folks just looking for a little advice. I recently bought a gtx660 from fleabay and there was snowy pixels showing up on games and the Nvidia spinning green sign (technical term!). Anyway I didn't learn my lesson and bought another gtx 660 from fleabay this time it works perfect! Now I won't to sli both cards but I think my psu can't handle them. I have an i7 950 pc at 4ghz and an asus p6x58d-e with 6gb ram. 2 hard drives and a bluray writer. My psu is an icute 700as. Supposed 700w! My question (eventually) is would an 850w psu be enough for this setup? And are the ocuk psu's any good?

Cheers for any advice given

Steven

I wouldn't trust that psu. I have never heard of icute. Get yourself a decent power supply and you should be ok. Here are a few that should do the trick.

YOUR BASKET
1 x Antec High Current Gamer 620W '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply £79.99
1 x BeQuiet Pure Power L8 630W '80 Plus Bronze' Modular Power Supply - With 120mm Silent Wing Fan Built in £79.99
1 x Silverstone Strider Plus 600W Modular '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply (SST-ST60F-P) £79.99
1 x Be Quiet Power Zone 650W '80 Plus Bronze' Fully Modular Power Supply £79.99
Total : £332.57 (includes shipping : £10.50).

700W would be good enough, and no they're not so great.

Never skimp on a PSU, if that blows you can lose your entire system!
How much do you have to spend?

Thanks for the responses!

I've just spent the best part of £210 on 2 graphics cards and my system isn't any better haha. I'm really looking for something that will last and has the power for any more possible upgrades ie more ram or possibly ssd. As cheap as possible really!! Haha
