Pub beer prices

£6.50?!?!?!?!?!?! What the hell was it. Seriously don't see the point in spending that much on a drink:eek:

Each to their own I guess....

It's expensive because of the costs of getting it here, it's rare (at least in cask), and the beer is expensive to make. I have much more expensive bottles of beer on my shelf!

£3.80-£4.20 is the average now. £4.60 for peroni but why would you bother..

I don't mind paying this in usual pubs, what annoys me now is the prices in wetherspoons..

Most places around here will be about $3-5 a pint. However, the selection is huge and have all kinds of different micro-breweries at different prices.
I'm doomed if I Chimay on tap, that's usually about $12 a go :(

I went up to Liverpool briefly last month and saw pints for £1.75 at a rather shady looking pub near Lime Street Station. I was a bit surprised since I'd not seen prices that low since I was a student...

Prices in London are still expensive although I don't think it's gone up much in the time I've been here. The plus side is that I feel like I've got a bargain when I buy drinks pretty much anywhere else in the UK.

I'm a cider man myself so naturally my drinks will always be more expensive than anyone else's.

A bottle of kopparberg sets me back £3.19 at my local wetherspoons.

On the contrary, I find expensive places attract the young 20's lot who work full time but still live with their parents that sit on their phones all night and drink blue things.

My place is cheaper but attracts tight fisted *******s with beards, way better drinking company! :D

There's a prison and a disproportionately high amount of psychiatric patients in the vicinity of my locals. Expensive beer tends to keep the "just released" away. They're certainly interesting people, but sometimes you just want a quiet pint after a busy day instead of a nutcase divulging his life story :p

I know the sort of bar you're talking about and we have one in particular where the commuting city workers come in to talk loudly about their success but I'm barred from there.

Im in Dublin until the 30th on business and the hotel is 4.60 euro a pint, went into Temple Bar last night and it was 5.60 for a pint of Guinness, Bud is 5 euro a pint in the hotel.

WTF!! I was in Tenerife last year and the Guinness was 4.5 euros a pint!!!
Why is this??? Ok I accept it in Tenerife but not Dublin!!!

A Scooner of rubbish Australian lager will you back $6-$12 in Sydney, maybe more in Kings Cross (Pub and Club area of the CBD).

Think yourselves lucky guys!

$6 AUS is about £3.50. About what we pay most places here, if you're lucky you'll pay £2.80-3.20, some places are more like £4.40.
