like quite a few of us you are going to be the ones who gets alerted to disaster only once the nuclear shockwave hits you in the face.

on a serious note what happens if this system gets hacked by china/russia/annoymous or a disgruntled boris johnson?

in the future I don't want to be spending literally 5 mins running around making last rites to discover I was fooled by a 13 year hacker in china with a dark sence of humour sending false alerts

I believe they have to (broadcast it in Welsh) - the rules are something like Welsh must be treated "no less favourably" than English. All government/public sector jobs are advertised bilingually, all road signs etc etc.

Ah, your first mistake - I never said "I" wanted that info. What I very carefully wrote, but you didn't read correctly, was that "I think a lot of people........." might want that info.

However, I do agree with the rest of your post, but my point so evidently missed was that people want to know "why" they should keep the Alert on and when would it be used, and the Government has not given those people anywhere near a good enough reason. I mean I'm definitely curious as to what the government means by the singular word "fire" as a reason to alert millions of Brits to a danger, but it won't keep me up at night :)
 
Congratulations BBC, It's gone 6pm and mother just came in and said "My phone made a funny noise earlier and said something about an emergency, what's going on" :rolleyes:

I saw this on picard the other night, our leaders are Borg and Changelings, the mobile warning will be used for the "assimilation of white western people" to become all woke.
