Never got one on my mobile and this function is certainly switched on. In fact I got a couple of local warnings earlier in the year regarding high winds.

So unless I notice the mushroom cloud over towards the River Nith, Sellafield formally Windscale is over that way (this must surely be a first strike target), then I'm unlikely to get much warning that the Armageddon has begun

I don't think I need to worry about a siren living five miles from GCHQ. I'm basically ground zero...

Congratulations BBC, It's gone 6pm and mother just came in and said "My phone made a funny noise earlier and said something about an emergency, what's going on"
What's it got to do with the BBC?

According to people who have 3 and work for 3, no.

Not seen any statement from Three to that effect - got a link?

They are the worst network though so not surprised they screwed it up.

We're aware that a number of customers have not received the test alert. We're working closely with the government to understand why and ensure it doesn't happen when the system is in use.

Not informing the public who aren't glued to the internet 24/7 like some of us
I've heard it mentioned multiple times on BBC local and national radio stations and on BBC TV over the last few weeks.

Can’t argue with you there

Those using an iPhone, go to Settings>Notifications and scroll to the bottom to see if Extreme alerts and Severe alerts are enabled.

I don't think preservation of a language is ridiculous or a waste of money, but then it's a language I speak, so I guess I wouldn't.

Well given less than 20% of people in Wales actually speak it I'm sure that money could be better spent elsewhere.
