It will all work wonderfully in practice but when it comes to actually needing to be used no one will remember the lengthy authorisation procedure.
Joking aside, it will be useful when they add terror alerts to it if a prompt alert to a geographical area is possible.

Turned mine off not having that rubbish on my phone. I know 2 people that a scared already and its not even started.

It works via cell tower areas i.e. the alert is sent to specific cell sites so only phones connected to that cell site or sites will get the alert.
You'd end up with more injured in the panic than the actual terrorist act.

I realise that, which is fine as long as the process to send out the alert is not so arduous that the incident has passed by the time people get the alert.

How you got that past ive been banned loads a time for less and there is no reason here either just what he thinks and thats all i did and to me thats fine. Just one or 2 try and cause trouble dont they and its them what win. Also this dont look a joke joke like you tried to say with others to make it ok.

Probably needs to be some public safety awareness / training circulated but to most if you received an alert to take cover you'd stay inside a building and facilities management / security / shop staff, would lock you in.
Honestly I'm surprised we don't already use such a system, seems many other countries do.
"Amber Alerts" for missing kids is something that absolutely should have already "been a thing" for years, I'm frankly saddened by how many people would willingly turn off such a system.

If I have the choice of getting an alert on my phone or having my life ended by being severed then it seems a no brainer to me.

Might be pretty annoying if you're driving and you can't pick up your phone to turn it off. Is the siren all the time until acknowleged or just initially followed by the message. Would it knock off google maps etc when hooked into your car?
