The MM is very active, and there are a lot of members on there because 1000 posts isn't really a high bar at all. There were only 50 cards on each of the 2 deals OCUK have done so far. This public one was 200...

Only 3 boards in the Hardware section have more posts than the PC components sales section of the MM. Considering the MM doesn't exactly have long threads (most complete within a page or 2), that's got to show how active it is.

I could have sworn I saw a few ebay listings yesterday for these cards with very similar names to in this thread but have since disapeared. Unsure if they are being cautious or if they have been cancelled.

Sadly they won't catch them all but overall I'd say this has been a success, though obviously was abused by some. Good job OcUK I say.

When I had a 5700 I could play 1440p but I had to go for low-medium-high settings if you know what I mean... Low shadows, high pixels, medium grass etc... That worked for me - I'm hoping with a 6700xt I can bump that to high all.
 
I managed to get a 6700xt in my basket yesterday and as it was checking out, the transaction was declined because i was 20p short in my account. school boy error. i'm a teenage boy and i just didnt factor in the postage. at least i know for next time now
 
Thanks to the OCUK offer I managed to get a card yesterday, rest assured I won't be selling it on or mining with it. I will finally be able to get some decent FPS on my 1440p monitor and be able to turn up the quality setting. It's good at least some legitimate gamers got the cards, I think the offer was a partial success.

I haven't had to lower any settings yet for 1440p.

Currently playing through SOTR Ultra preset + ultra RT (bit late I know).

Just curious...are you trying to push for 120/144fps because of using 1440p monitor with that refresh rate?

I'm actually surprised if that the 5700XT would struggle to do decent graphic settings for 1440p at 60Hz...
 
Could it have been possible to cancel the cards being shipped to these greedy profiteers and give people who missed out by a whisker or mistake when placing their order.

Yes, read the thread, where they were able to do so quickly enough they did exactly that - several of the eBay listings were cancelled almost straight away when people realised they'd been rumbled

The monitor I have only does 60hz and the 5700xt did 'ok' at 1440p, but I really wanted to be closer to 60fps with decent graphics settings, I played state of decay 2, mw5, kingdom come, and will be playing cp2077. I did run this on my old system then ie an Intel 2700k, so having done a new build (after 9 years), I'm curious how the games will play, new cpu, new gpu. Btw I really like my monitor... 43" great colors decent input lag. FreeSync.
