"but a one off £1k 'consolidated' payment."

Anyone know if this is a lump sum award or £1k added to salary THEN 5% increase?

I know what a non-consolidated payment it, but not this!

ETA: A consolidated pay rise would be a permanently increased salary, often without any mention of how it affects tax, bonuses or any other responsibilities.

Unfunded apparently though except teachers. So that's a lot of money missing from hospital budgets, etc isn't it?

It's in! https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-66188500

What pay rises have been announced?

Police officers: 7%
Prison officers: 7%
Teachers: 6.5%
Junior doctors: 6%
Armed forces: 5%

Armed Forces - lowest of all. Typical as easy targets, but a one off £1k 'consolidated' payment.

Council workers get 1-2% after years (and years) of frozen pay, so armed forces aren't the lowest ;)
