And your clearly one confused youngster if you think a post about a 19yr old killed in a hit and run has anything to do with a policeman letting you off of a minor offence?

Actually, it makes a lot of sence... guy is run over by a driver either drunk or stoned, and the neighbours house smells of drink/drugs? Can you honnestly not see the link, even if the content is completely unrequired in this thread.

As said.

He didn't let me off.

I hadn't broken the law.

Hence why I never got fined.

He used his descretion based on the fact he couldn't fine me.

I was there.

Just a bored copper (probably henpecked) making himself feel better in his mundane existance.

This is the key part that you seem completely unable to understand!

JUST BECAUSE YOU WERENT FINED DIDNT MEAN YOU WERENT BREAKING THE LAW!

The cop chose to let you off with a warning. Its not unheard of you know. What the hell makes you think that anyone on these forums is going to believe your version of events anyway.

And one more thing..

Please, for the love of god

Stop with the double line spacing

its annoying as hell

really!

I totally understand that if I had broken the law its up to the cop wether he fines me.

Was stopped doing 100 on the M62 few months back. Was told off.

My point is.He didn't fine me cause he didn't have the grounds too.

I would have taken him the ******** cleaners.

Backed up with evidence to match.

What would your evidence have shown? That driving on a public road without a seatbelt isn't illegal?

No.

Private car park 10 secs without a seatbelt.

Throw away the key!

As if.

A letter to his superior would be something I| could have got my teeth into.

Just like when I got the parking fine in manchester when I got a ticket for parking in the correct zone.

letter of apology came swiftly to my door having refused to pay the parking fine.

I lived in a Shared house in manchester when at university.

The guy next door ,19 was a student at my universtity and was killed outside the house by a drunken driver.

The police knocked on our door just after it happened.

when I answered the door to the Police and invited them in to tell us the news and if we had seen anything. He said why does the front room smell funny.

A 19 yr is dead.

And he is still hungry for busting students.

How do they sleep at night?

I want the police to take a proactive approach to.

Drugs
Burglary
Anti Social behaviour
Underage drinking
Speeding
Muggings

How can stopping me be proactive?

I wasn't even breaking the law.

Just to quote your here, you want the police to stop people doing the following, you had a friend killed by sombody speeding who was drunk, a policeman comes to deal with it, he goes in your house and smells somthing funny, so why should he not deal with the law breakers in your house, just because somebody has been killed, it does not stop him doing his job.

I stop people all the time for minor things, this is how i make most of my arrests as i see other things that are not correct, the one i like to catch most is drink drivers, this policeman was more than likely doing this.

You also say you were nice to the policeman if you did nothing wrong why would you do this, if you did not have to wear your seatbelt why did you not say this to him, its becuase you know your in the wrong and didnt want the points and fine.

go catch proper criminals i hear this every day, not wearing your seat belt is a crime, not only that the last RTA i was at where the passenger was not wearing a seatbelt i held her head together for about 8 minutes, when the paramedic turned up she died, guess what she was less than 200 yards from her front door.
