Right so me being the spud i am, ive got work in for tomorrow which HAS to be done. What are the best things i can do to stay awake all night.

Im thinking of putting some pasta on in a mo with plenty of cheese and herbs itll be tastey but will that help?

Any advice will be huggggggeeeellly appreciated!

Rob

PS. Coffee just seams to make me more drowsey :(

Just get on with it. If you know something has to be done, the brain releases chemicals to help. Sugar is good too I've found - I've been known to get through several bags of Maltesers on a long stint in the datacentre ;).

Nothing. Surely you should be able to work through the night without falling asleep. I've had to do a couple of assignments for uni lately and stayed up all night for both.

To be fair, for the first I was watching 24 season 4 at the same time. But for the second I wasn't and it was easy to stay awake, i didn't even feel particularly tired.

Be careful though. The morning comes round quicker than you think if you have a lot of work.

Keep yourself busy, it depends on your work. For some people music works, I also put on some nice coffee and open the window a bit for some fresh air.

Amen to the cigarettes, it works a treat but i cant help but feel dirty :S, whats new (i really should try to give up)

Caffeine, snacks and keeping busy... if you're doing something it's pretty easy to stay up all night. I've had all nighters on Football Manager and Civilization before. :o

thats probably because you dont realise the time, here i am just finished on wow and its gone 2 am

but keeping busy is the cruical part, if you do that you will forget about being tired

also maybe keep setting alarm clocks just in case u do fall asleep?

Worse food ever for all-nighters, digesting it will make you want to keel over and lose consciousness minutes after imbibing it! :D
You need something with good sugar content to keep you awake, but not TOO sweet as it'll give you a short sugar high and a massive crash afterwards.

Just do the work and play some music with a good tempo to it to get you going perhaps.

If you were doing it to get a sleep pattern back (like I was thinking of doing other day) then I'd suggest playing games or something similar but you need to do work so thats a no. :p

Good luck though and hope you get it done. :D

stay off the carbs and things with white flour in... they will send you to sleep pretty quickly !
when i have a pizza... it nearly nocks me out ! lol

Noooooo.....I ate pasta. I need an antidote....quick!

I'm also staying up tonight, but not to do work because I can't work when I'm tired even though I have 3 assignments due next monday

Nah I'm staying up so I can be there to answer the door when they deliver my new iRiver mp3 player which was reduced to around £118 on the OcUK specials, you know it makes sense :D

As for tips well I'm just going to drink water because staying hydrated is the way to go, although I'll need some sugary intake to balance those osmotic levels; thinking banana milkshake but then milk makes you tired doesn't it?

Hmm I really should change my sig it's years old and crap anyway (it's my old username) :o

edit: My mp3 player package isn't showing up on royal mails track and trace even tho they said it shipped this morning (re: yesterday morning) :(

Let me get this straight, you're staying up all night to make sure you're there to open the door for a delivery man that probably wont come before 8am ?

You people heard of an alarm? :p ;)

(Says the man who's posting on an internet forum at 3.20am instead of doing his coursework..... :o )
