Im not a young 'hipster' who wears a ramones t-shirt, infact i only own a couple of band t-shirts as souvenirs from gigs, i dont really wear them. I just enjoy listening to the band, was that comment really necesarry? i mean i feel like you have made a judgement on me purely based on listing a band that i enjoy...a band i was introduced to by a 40 something dad of 2 small children, who him and his wife are big fans....do you want to strangle them too?

If you are really going out of your way to strangle them, shouldnt you be in prison or something? ;)

That wasn't meant as a relfection on you.

None yet :(

Next time I see that Nekromantix or Horrorpops are playing around here I plan on going to see them. I've only just started getting into it really, started looking into Demented are Go! and The Meteors, I'm planning on getting hold of some Tiger Army stuff too :)

Just because they're young, doesn't mean they can't like The Ramones? :) I know plenty of my friends who love The Beatles, Deep Purple and all of the "older" bands.

Emo arguement, Fall Out Boy are not emo in my eyes..they're pop punk, in my opinion. Maybe later on when Andr3w is online we can discuss why they're considered to be emo by others. :)

Listening to a few of these new bands, thankyou for the suggestions.

Right, I might as well clear the air. :o

Of course it's ok for people to like older music. Many of the artists I listen to released albums in the 60s and the 70s. The Ramones comment was more a reference to the recent resurgence of interest in them in the last year. Of course this isn't a bad thing provided that the music, and not the associated image, is the object of such attention. I recently called out someone wearing a Ramones t-shirt; he couldn't name one song, album or band member.

Secondly, I was partly being a troll with the whole emo/punk pop issue. I'm well aware of the origins of true emo music. However, there is something to be said about the evolution of the word to include bands such as Fall Out Boy. Many people would consider them to be emo.

that's terrible if he was wearing the bog standard one you can pick up at any H&M, it's got all 4 names on it.
