Links are there, make sure you get the .tgz or update through the software itself.

Edit: DONE!

2G iPhone from 1.1.4 ZiPhoned to 2.0.1 Pwnaged! :D

Can I just ask did you restore your phone befoe you then started to use pwnage or did you just update straight from a 1.1.4 ziphoned iphone?

Could i use a firmware created with a mac and pwnage and flash it in windows on a pwned itunes?

Just updated my 2G phone and the location service feature in maps does not work, it did before but now it just sits there with the spinning widget.

The other problems such as slow opening of apps and lag when typing seem to have been fixed though.

For a total iPhone noob...

I used pwnage this morning to upgrade, jailbreak and unlock my phone to 2.0.1. I used "Expert Mode" to remove the custom pineapple boot logos, etc. When it was finished something called "Bootneuter 2.0" loaded automatically and did some things to the bootloader & baseband (presumably part of unlocking). It seems to have flashed it with version 3.9 - 4.6 was an option but I didn't have the choice to choose it as the whole process was automated.

Is there any real point to choosing 3.9 over 4.6 or vice versa? I'm worried that I would be missing out on something by not choosing the presumably "better" later 4.6 version.

It's a bootloader - it just loads the OS. It's not a very exciting piece of software.

In fact, 4.6 removes features present in 3.9 to make it 'safer'. (i.e. harder to patch/crack).

As far as I was aware, though, Bootneuter actually installs 4.6. What it probably showed was what the phone was at before - if it was ZiPhoned before you did the upgrade/jb/unlock with pwnage then the BL would have been 3.9.

If im running a 3G iPhone 2.0.1 can I restore to 2.0, jailbreak it using pwnage then put it into DFU mode and upgrade to normal 2.0.1?

I'm not sure how it was done before, I bought it 2nd hand - it had 1.1.4 jailbroken/unlocked when I received it. I updated it to 2.0.1 via iTunes (which of course locked it and said my SIM wasn't supported) before going the pwnagetool route.

All I know is that when I restored the custom 2.0.1 firmware created using Pwnage 2.0.2 that the Bootneuter app used 3.9 when flashing baseband, etc.

In the end I downloaded Bootneuter again via Cydia (it's deleted after flashing) and manually upgraded to 4.6 bootloader because I was paranoid that I would be missing out running 3.9. :(

Nothing seems to have changed anyway - phone still jailbroken & unlocked, so at least it *worked* even if I can't see what the differences between using 3.9 and 4.6 actually mean.
