Pwnage 2.0.2 released!

Im on O2 Simplicity so just need jailbreaking :)

If the phone is running 2.0.1 now can I just pwn iPhone1,2_2.0.1_5B108 then put the phone into DFU mode then restore it with the new IPSW?

Not sure exactly what you mean as I'm an iPhone noob, but I went from a legit 2.0.1 to pwned 2.0.1 with no probs, just pwned it and manually selected the ipsw to restore from in iTunes.

I selected the one I downloaded via iTunes when it said there was an upgrade available: iPhone1,1_2.0.1_5B108_Restore.ipsw

Pretty sure the above won't be the same for 3G, so be warned :)
 
If I jailbroke my 3G already upgraded to 2.0.1 phone. Is it easy to restore back to an un-jailbroken state? Will all my texts and settings transfer between flashing of firmwares?
 
If you backup the phone ,everything except mp3/vids is saved.
Notes, texts, photos are all saved, just not mp3s/videos.

Ive got 2.0.1 on my 3G running at the moment but Im going to downgrade to 2.0, put custom 2.0 on then try upgrading to custom 2.0.1

Im assuming you have to jailbreak it when 2.0 is running as I havent read anywhere that 2.0.1 can be jailbroken straight off. The only things I've found are people jailbreaking 2.0 then upgrading to custom 2.0.1.
Have you read anywhere that you can just create a custom 2.0.1 and go straight from normal to custom using manual select firmware in iTunes?

The reason people are going from 2.0 to 2.0.1 is because they haven't upgraded to 2.0.1 until it this tool was released.

People have been advised not to upgrade their 3G phones to 2.0.1 before this tool was out, as the 2.0.1 firmware changes the 3G baseband - which might render a future unlock impossible. Pwnage can remove this baseband update.

The firmware is jailbroken by when you create the custom ipsw. Whether you load a Custom 2.0 or 2.0.1, it will be jailbroken. There's nothing to be gained by downgrading to 2.0 first. You will need to Pwn the phone before it will let you upload custom firmware though.
 
Could someone upload the same firmware you would get using simple mode, but minus the customized images/logos? All the cydia and installer stuff confuses me.

I was running 2.0.1 normal with O2. Just created custom 2.0.1 (all for 3G)
Worked fine except I get no service, so pointless! That was with Activate iPhone ticked, now trying it with Activate iPhone unticked and now it works


I now have a 3G iPhone Jailbroken 2.0.1 :)


Im uploading at the moment:

iPhone_3G_2.0.1_Custom_Restore_Not_Activated.ipsw
iPhone_3G_2.0.1_Custom_Restore_Activated.ipsw

Both have default logos
