Q6600 G0 reports speed of 1.6Ghz. Whay not 2.4Ghz?

If you can't see CPU EIST in the BIOS.
In Windows XP under Power options change the selection to always on or in Vista Power options change to High performance & apply.
In vista you might want to make sure all of the settings are correct by changing the plan settings.
This fixed a dell at work that had speedstep enabled and didn't have the relevant options in BIOS to change.

just to note I am currently running Prime for some temp testing and the CPU hasnt changed....??????:confused:

:) sorted now.

Flashed the bios again with F10 and then loaded optimized defaults in the bios and bingo the EIST option was there :).

Clock now at 2.4GHz

how did you flash the BIOS this time? how did you flash the BIOS the last time?

you should always flash the BIOS out-of-windows. Gigabytes have a very nifty bios flash program built into the mobo specifically for it, you can use a Flash Drive.
