Q6600 mATX build

When I was fitting the 7500 to my X-Qpak it definitely was larger by a few mm, and that was a removeable tray, but it still fit into the case just "pinged" the fins a bit when I was sliding it in.

hey Biffa,

By strange coincidence, I'm about to knock together a Giga-Byte G33M DS2R / Q6600 combo myself, specifically for hosting virtual machines - googled for reviews, and came across here!

How are things now, a couple of months down the line? Are you still happy with the G33M? What are you running now, and what temps do you have? Especially interested if that Zalman cooler did the trick for you - how quiet is it?

One big confusion for me is whether it is possible to overclock the mobo, with DDR2 6400 ram without the 1:1 dividers, and without having to go for 8500 ram?

This is the one thing that stopping me buying this now.

Any updates?

thanks mate

you only need to file it down by 2mm to 3mm not much really. i wouldn't cut you case up as
it will drop its value down if you ever want to sell it.

i was told if you use PC2-6400+ ram you can run it 1:1
