Got my Q6600 G0 today and here are the codes

SLACR
L725B020
Pack Date 16th August 2007 (wow)

So far i'm sat at 4.02Ghz in XP
Temps very nice at 45c Idle - For once all the temps agree
Asus ProbeII and Core temp both show the same.

The chip puts more pressure on the mobo which is where i'm not sure about stability. Can do superPi no probs at 4Ghz, working on Prime.

Just going to let it bed in for an hour or two then see how stable she is.

4ghz

Mine should be arriving tomorrow, that'll be under a custom built water system too... 4ghz would be fantastic :D

HI there

WOW, thats some superb results m8, if you check our bundles section you will see we now have two bundles. What do you think?

Will shortly be applying roughly £50 discount to them as well, making for some great value. :)

Screen shots and volts please :D :D

Screen shot will have to wait a bit as my OS corrupted as i pushed the NB and FSB voltages about :(

Vcore is 1.56v

I should stress that this 4ghz is not stable yet. Heat seems to be the issue, but not the chip heat, heat on the motherboard at this FSB. I like to run nice and silent, but the only way i can stay stable is with fans on about 75%

Just to explain my dilema.

Q6600 G0 or E6850 G0 - which to keep?
The E6850 benches at 4.2Ghz and is stable for Prime at 4.05
So far the Q6600 looks like it may bench at 4Ghz but be Prime stable closer to 3.8Ghz due to the mobo getting too hot.

This is turning into a real dilema... will Quad be the one to have as new games come out????? HELP

Anyway, just re-installing the OS and will try again.

The bundles are looking good, I'd separate them into AMD and Intel (someone is unlikely to be looking for either) and put your own OCuk Value RAM in there to lower the price.

Nice job on listing cases for the tuniq tower bundle, I can confirm that the Antec P180 is compatible with the tuniq tower.

I'd suggest that if your CPU is bottlenecking your games at 3.8GHz (whilst the other two, 'unused' cores are seeing to the OS and its background apps), then it probably will at 4GHz too.

Get the quad stable, 3.8GHz quad on air is still an amazing clock and well worth it over 4GHz duo , in my opinion.

A 3.6GHZ Quad is better than a 4GHZ Core 2 Duo. Your crazy if you dont keep the Quad. :p ;)

HI there

They are already seperated, you just need to click AMD or Intel on the left hand column. :)

 at me. Apologies Gibbo

You could swap the crucial 8500 stuff for your own 8500 stuff, as if they are using air they will never need more than 500MHz RAM for their cpu overclock.

9 x 500MHz = 4.5GHz, -> they'd be lucky on a tuniq tower!

For the majority of people, this statement is not (yet) true. For >95% of the applications I use, there is no advantage using a quad. But in 12-24 months time.........

Hi there

I've gone with the Ballistix because its very flexible, as in it will run at CAS 3-3-3-8 at speeds under 750MHz, then at 4-4-4-12 upto around 1000MHz and right upto 1200MHz with 5-5-5-15 timings. Obviously not all Ballistix is guaranteed to do this, but most of it does which makes it excellent memory. Plus now I've applied the discounts it makes these two bundles excellent value, you guys save nearly £50. :)

So is the Quad fan boys comments, if some of us dont want to use CPU long and only bought to get by till next gen from both AMD/Intel a Dual is suffice, Im happy at 4GHZ on a E6850, very soon I will be on a new AMD I hope, depends on clock speeds.

BTW, this is a reply to above comment, I KNOW this is Quad thread so thats all I am adding, but there was many threads on topic of Dual v Quad.

simon if your still using watercooling u can bin the asus waterblock and get nb, sb and mosfets for that board and it runs a lot better @ higher clocks

God that argument is getting very tiring now...
No, it's a fact, whether you like to admit it or not.

What is getting tiring is the endless "Quad > *" fanboy crap, even when faced with the basic fact that a faster clocked dual will outperform a slower clocked quad if the app in question doesn't use the extra cores.

I'm perfectly happy with my dual at the moment but it doesn't want to go above 3.6 without major voltage hikes so I'm watching what happens with these G0 quads with interest. If they can hit 3.4-3.6 without expensive and/or noisy cooling then I might be tempted to switch but if not, I'll stick with my dual as it'll be faster for the things I do.

Lets see how well your dual core measures up to my 3.8Ghz Q6600 G0 (L726A) in something like UMMM Crysis when its released. Tell ya what i'll cut you some slack and cut mine down to 3.2Ghz if you want
