Hi Guys

When running Core Temp i receive the following temperatures when running Vista on idle. I have a Q6600 and its nots the energy efficient one.

TJ Max: 100 C
Core 0 44c
Core 1 44c
Core 2 43c
Core 3 43c

Im using an NT06 cooler and it seems to be running a little high to me and wanted to know if these temperatures seem right.

Thx.

I've seen lower , but also higher nothing wrong with them but you might want a bit lower if u intend to overclock . My q6600 runs idle at 38 oc'ed to 3ghz

mine are running at 28,26,23,23 on stock clock.
was getting around 34 for each core when oc'd to 3ghz.

under load I've seen mine do around 45 for each core.

Im using the NT06-E in my Sugo on a G0 Q6600 clocked at 3Ghz and im idling at 39,39,34,32. But given yours is a B3 that looks fine.

temps >60 are a bit high, you might want to check your case airflow and if theres anything you can do to shift the hot air out and draw cool air in. Otherwise unless your having instability under full load I wouldnt be worrying too much.

my temps are:
37
37
34
34

and im only using the stock cooler and compound that was on it.
Whats the airflow in your case like?

They throttle themselves down when they get to hot.
Mine hit 96 and didn't throttle,(over a year and half ago) but for constant temps, around 70 is my limit.
Your temps are fine.

Get real mate 62C is not bad temperature. My q6600 @3.2 runs at 85C full load for more than a year and nothing is happened.
I do not understand why you people want to have temp 40C to be happy.

As said before those temps looks fine. I would only bother to get better cooling if you plan on overclocking it, but the B3 don't overclock as well as the G0.

There's a good reason why intel increased max Tjunct on the 65nm quads to 100 degrees. They get hot, but they are designed to as you said. Even your 85 degrees is 15 degrees short of thermal throttle.

I suspect that some of the people with 40-50 degree load temps are either on water, or have massive airflow. Either that, or are using old versions of coretemp and/or realtemp, and dont have 100 degree Tjunct set.

My Q6700 (G0) @ 3.2Ghz (my motherboard doesnt overclock very well), sits at around 63-65 degrees with 4 copies of prime95 running, and thats a chip with 1.265VID @ stock voltage.
