By going for a B-grade cpu and motherboard I can get it within £3.50 of the new budget by the time postage is added on. This gets you a Ryzen 5 2600 which comes with a decent cooler and a Gigabyte AB350 Gaming motherboard so that you can overclock. It's a full size atx board as well and it looks quite good. Being B-grade though the board may just come by itself with no accessories at all. Or Gigabyte rep Giga-man may be able to get hold of a I/O shield for you if it doesn't come with one.
My basket at Overclockers UK:
- 1 x **B Grade** AMD Ryzen 5 Six Core 2600 3.90GHz (Socket AM4) Processor - Retail= £139.99
- 1 x **B Grade** Gigabyte GA-AB350-Gaming AMD B350 (Socket AM4) DDR4 ATX Motherboard= £50.00
- 1 x Team Group Vulcan T-Force 8GB (2x4GB) DDR4 PC4-24000C16 3000MHz Dual Channel Kit - Grey (TLGD48G3000= £52.99
Still can't get any better than the i3 8100 on the Intel side though because of the silly prices of the cpu's.
Many Thanks
I have just ordered this bundle. Board came with the shield and 2 SATA leads which is nice. Is anything else missing ? It's been a long time since I bought a motherboard, I'm talking old Core 2 Duo Processor !
