Quad or Dual Core!?!?!

Just get the Quad core, your hearts set on it already....

Such a shame Intels price cuts are so far away... and not to mention AMDS quad cores are so far away....

I think we will start seeing Dual core gaming take off in another 1-2 years, but its good to see Valve/Epic saying nah we will just design our engines for Quad and more cores... that way its just supported in the engine endless!

I thought the price drops were going to be in April ?

XD-3

Yeah plenty talk suggesting April.... but now May... and it just gets longer and longer tbh.

Some chatter about the Quad core coming down to £330!? but cant vouch for that comment....

As nothing seems to support dual or quad core you might as well go for a 3.6ghz P4 Prescott! total bargain.

Windows supports dual and quad, but not all software does. At the present time going for dual core is sensible, if you do some heavy CPU processes. A 3.6ghz Prescott is beaten by "slower" newer gen chips.

I thought supreme commander supports up to 16 or 32 cores? Theres a good enough reason! may aswell get quad core if your rich, even if not many things use it. they will soon

Adobe Photoshop, some video encoding programs do!

Also, you can do more at once with dual core. Play games and encode video at the same time.

I'd rather buy an oven than a prescott! :p
