Quakecon 2013!

Quite sad of me but after playing a little payday heist 2 beta, I put the stream on my big tv @ 720+ quality, it ran absolutely perfect. So I watched all the upper bracket and some lower bracket games. So good watching a game of skill and brain power.

Some fantastic matches were played.

Didn't watch the stream but I'm surprised how few posts there are in this thread regarding the event. Was it really that dull?

He couldn't really talk about any of the games due to NDAs, apparently, so it was mostly a technical talk. I found that quite interesting but it was really just a nerd rambling about nerd stuff, so I can see why it wouldn't appeal to a lot of people. :p

I wouldn't be surprised if he moved on to the PS4. He is an geek / engineer / Shader God guy, and the console looks interesting from that perspective. Certainly more interesting than the steady GPU development of the last decade. Nothing really changed there, only more horsepower. He's been fighting for unified architecture for some time.

And I'm sure he'll also be balls deep into anything related to Oculus, although from an engineering perspective, there isn't much you can add (except reduce latency). Maybe improving tracking / positioning / gyro tech from his rockets.

Who knows, he might just be more interested in flying his rockets. From the last QuakeCon, I had a feeling all this ID / video gaming stuff was just getting in the way of his rocket engineering.
