Quantam of Solace...

he's still a good bond, and QofS is pretty good compared to the pre Craig era, just not quite as good as CR, worth a watch though, look fwd to the next one

See the thing is the latest Bond films are missing the key ingredient from all of the other Bond films - action.

The latest Bond films being what exactly? There's loads in Casino Royale and I expect QoS is similar.

If your suggesting Brosnan's last two Bond films were better because of the action then you're so wrong it's ridiculous. Action can't make up for poor acting and a terrible script.

TBH if you can't follow Casino Royale then, really, you may want to just stop watching films.

Casino Royale was very easy to follow as was QOS. I found them both to be excellent. My wife, who hates James Bond, enjoyed them so they're appleaing to a much wider audience.

You have to remember this is James Bond before he becomes the James Bond that Sean Connery, Roger Moore, etc. are.

I thought it was an excellent film and the fact that it broke Box Office records shows how appealing it is now for everyone. I went to the Cinema first thing on a Sunday where, before, there has only been 5 people watching a film. On Sunday we had to queue to get to see it.

I would highly recommend this.

M,

Daniel craig can suck it. He is just some commoner. James bond is supposed to be smooth and sophisticated. Not some old short fatty.

He is old and very fat.

Are you ****ing blind, he has an amazing figure. Also hes not a bad bond he could be a little better, personally I cant think of a better actor to play the role, I'm sure someone will correct me soon:D!

I'm not gay I just admire his physique!

I don't think you are used to Ken's posts, im more of a lurker than poster but he is just baiting you, and you have fallen for it ;)

I don't think action is what is missing from the film, as QOS has plenty of it. I mean we get a car chase, a bike chase, a boat chase and a plane chase!

The trouble is, it just didn't feel like a Bond movie to me.
They had a Director and Editor who have worked together in the past mainly on heavy drama stuff, then the action was all shot by the same Director who did the Bourne films. Which is why there was so much of that signature shaky camera, you can't really tell what's going on work to it.

I didn't see a point in those scenes where they kept cross cutting to something else, such as when in the theatre, they kept showing what was happening on the stage, which just seemed unnecessary.

It just seemed like it was two different films.
The plot, yes it led on from the last one, and by the looks of things will continue to the next, and I know a lot of people in the audience had no idea what was going on. Dominic Greene was probably the poorest excuse for a Bond villan ever though.

I think Daniel Craig makes a good Bond, but I'm worried if they keep up the way things have gone with this film, that it's going to loose what made it Bond in the first place.

Huh, just checking whats showing in my local VUE and it says something about Q.O.S over 18's edition. What the hell is that about ?

Same film just nobody under 18 allowed into that showing.
stops having annoying idiots talking or messing around :]

great idea imo.

Daniel Craig has tried to change Bond from what it was before which is obviously going to upset people. I'm not a massive fan of the old films, Brosnan was awful, poor acting, poor script and it just started getting ridiculous. Craig is attempting to bring it back to how it should be in my opinion.

Only because it pulls punters on the Bond title. They're still crap bond films, but by themselves, they're ok action movies.

I would agree if it wasn't for the fact that it was the highest grossing Bond film ever. So all the other Bond movies also had the Bond title to pull on.

That's some flawed logic there since you have to see the movie before you decide whether it's good or not, so box office figures mean nothing.

It obviously did well enough for them to do a direct sequal in pretty much the same style. And while on initial release the name alone may have been enough to draw crowds Casino Royale went on to have a reasonably long and successful relase backed up with very good DVD sales too.

Can't that be due in some part to marketing and advertising? The older films were never hyped up like this one. Maybe the Brosnan one's prehaps.
