Quantam of Solace...

I think people are annoyed with the new bond films, because there is no stupid gadgets, no cheesy bad guys, no simple story line to follow and no stand up trim and proper posh guy from a spoiled background in the film.

Its dark, gritty, action packed and great fun to watch.

If you don't like them because there not like the old classic cheesy bond, then go watch reruns, because the new bond films are far better then the old ones.

i dont like quantum because its crap. its nothing to do with the (thankful) lack of cheesy gadgets or guns.

if you think you know why people dont like quantum, then you clearly havent bothered to read any of the thread.

It's not crap, not by a long way.

YES SPOILER

Just semi crap.

So uninvolving, o look lets go here, have some action, oooo baddie does something and says they are everywhere, o look we are bad oil people. No wait it's all about frekin water, then lets go to a hydrogen powered hotel and blow up, run around, shoot a few people. Then to top it off he doesn't even bed the hot bird, WTF bond stop having a damn period.

Who the hell cares about a corrupt bloke wanting to control bolivia's water supply anyway? I want world domination or at least the threat of a large disaster.

They have made Bond into a charmless, moody thug.

Don't rise to the bait, whilst the film isn't the best it's not crap by any stretch, to say it's crap is just ott to get a reaction or to be awkward for the hell of it ;)

im not being awkward and i dont want your reactions - i wasnt asking a question. i think its crap, thats about the end of it. what you think may differ, but at least i have a valid reason - rubbish plot, rubbish character developement, too many location changes and a rubbish end.

ok, so thats a couple of reasons. omg im being awkward;)

huh?

It is crap. If it wasn't a Bond movie then it wouldn't have even made it to the cinema. It would be released straight to DVD with some no-mark playing the lead.

Even Segal wouldn't have set down his cheeseburger for it.

Im a huge bond fan to, was dissapointed with quantam, most of my mates who have seen it to were let down. Was to short, i left thinking , is that it ?? is it over?

After seeing it and not having much expectations, I was pleasantly surprised, it was a good action movie, not a good bond film however.

Slightly annoying that you have to wait until the end of the film to find out what the Quantum of Solace is and then it's glanced over as if it's of no great importance.

I saw the premiers of thsis and would give it 6.5/10 at best. It's obvious that the director forsook depth and content for simply making everything explode as nicely as possible. In fact the amount of things that exploded got annoying after a while... coke cans... pebbles... everything seemed to bloody blow up.

Only plus was the new Bond Girl was stunning. Really average film though imo, nowhere near as meaty as Casino Royale.

Craig just doesn't fit the classic Fleming bond vision... and I think that will ultimately be his downfall. He is too rough, too angsty, and lacks real charisma.

Hopefully the next film will get back on track - be a proper Bond film and have Q etc plus some gadgets !
QoS while short was fun for just a film but as others have said it doesn't fit the 'Bond' universe that well - not least because there was no "real" villain!!!
If they can reproduce Casino Royales 'style' for the next film then that would be great in my opinion.

Theres only one person to blame for QOS being 'average' and thats Marc Forster. The producers Broccoli and Wilson have tried to be too clever by half letting this guy take charge.

Completely the wrong choice of director, he is 'art house' and it shows...that opera scene has 'look how clever i am' written all over it.

The running time is ridiculously short, strip out the opening titles and credits and its barely 95 mins.... the whole thing just felt rushed and unsatisfying.

Hopefully this will go down as the 'difficult second album' syndrome and a return to form awaits us for Craigs next outing as 007.

6/10.

Watched it. have to say it was one of the worst Bond films i've seen. Was bored half way through..
