Quantum Break PC requirements

Somebody on Reddit who's beta testing Fable Legends confirmed that it also has those limitations, as does Minecraft, which means this almost certainly will have as well.

Windows 10 store exclusive means it is built as a windows app which means:
No SLI/Crossfire,
Windows 10 store download is buggy,
No refund policy explained,
Vsync is always on,
Always borderless fullscreen,
Game files are protected,
Can't launch it via the exe (So adding it as a non steam game will not work)
No fps/hardware monitor software works with it,
You need to take control of the folder as admin if you want access to the files
Mouse software which lets you create custom binds for each game doesn't work
Say bye to using sweetfx and mods
EDIT: I'm not making this up or taking it from other sources. I'm part of the Closed BETA for Fable Legends and have Minecraft Windows 10 Edition. I've came across all of these issues

Why do Microsoft always have to find a way to spoil their PC gaming efforts? They're so desperate to control it within their own little ecosystem, and it's never going to happen. Games for Windows Live was a miserable failure, and the Windows Store as a platform for delivering "real" games will be as well if these limitations aren't addressed.

So many GfWL games were never converted to Steam though. I reinstalled GTA IV recently and it's still infested with that pile of crap. I think I spent more time getting it up and running than I did playing it in the end.

I thought I was going nuts because I posted similar info from my experience of ROTTR which I got off Windows store in what I thought was this thread but a near identical one is in the pc game section.

It's so anti PC gamer that it's a joke. they've announced this some games you buy on Xbox will give you a free Win 10 store version of the game nonsense. They are trying to push Win 10 store as a platform, probably seeing Steam money and thinking they want a slice of that, 30% to them instead of Steam. I'm not actually against that, I'm quite anti Steam due to their pricing already, Uplay sucks, Origin is fine but at least having them means Steam don't have a monopoly. I'm not against MS doing their own thing but making it this rubbish is just insane. It's like taking any existing games platform then doing everything possible to make it worse.

Is 16GB of RAM cropping up more and more these days? I don't particularly have any background processes running and I've never 'run out' of RAM. Would you likely see any performance decrease between two PCs of the same space (say, the recommended spec up there) but one with 8 and one with 16GB?

Well you can have a difference but now and then who uses msaa 4x on 4k for example? I dont even use AA on 1440p normally. pushing ram without making sure your game experience is what you want seems like, silly.

Not sure why so many believe you suddenly would need a lot of Gb to play a game as when we see tests you wont notice difference between ultra/high when playing anyhow.

I don't think you will see raw fps drop. But you do notice smoothness difference on allmost everything else. Starting from loading times to alt-tabbing. Really depends of how much game actually takes.

For me personally it's important , that I have enough ram to run game , while having multiple programs running on background (skype, browsers, youtube ,whatever). And I do alt-tab a lot, so smoothness in that one is important to me.

Makes sense as its 4k live action video. I think people are taking this the wrong way

Yep, some crasy amount of videos there in that game. Interesting concept. I feel sorry for those who have monthly bandwidth limits on their inet connections.

it's not funny it's really sad, it's windows 10 anyway and store exclusive so i am out, even if i would have liked to get the game

Some gamers are so entitled. I bought Gears on PC store and was annoyed with no G-SYNC and hated the AMD issues with my Nano, so you know what I did? Instead of moaning about Windows store I wrote a review explaining the issues without sounding whiny and then asked for a refund via MS online chat support.

I got the refund INSTANTLY. Not to mention the support rep was insanely funny and polite. She was giving me imaginary high fives and telling me about her day off! Better support than I have had with steam, that's for sure.

Give them time. They will iron out the issues and get it to a place we are all happy with. I mean at least we are getting the game on PC and for FREE for those of us that bought the Xbox one version!

Looks a good game.

Personally, not bothered about whether a game is on Steam, Origin, uPlay or the inside of a tramps posing pouch as long as it works. All it means is moving my mouse pointer around 7" and double clicking another icon, no biggie.

I can understand them not wanting to bundle 4k videos in the download.

People would just complain that it was so big. You'd be looking at somewhere in the region of 150GB+ with the game files as well. Most hardcore gamers use SSD's which are always a bit limited with space even if you have a fairly large one.

A good compromise would have been an optional download of 1080p files if you didn't want to be always online.

You go girl, someone needs to stick up for poor little Microsoft and their right to release broken games without being hounded by entitled bully gamers as a result. Their history of broken promises and failures doesn't matter, because this time things will be different. I mean, they're not right now, despite it being a decade since the Games for Windows Live fiasco from which to the untrained eye it might look like learned absolutely nothing, but they will be. Their customer support rep told me so! And then gave me a high five! So shut up, entitled gamers!

Problem we gamers have is that pretty much every publisher is more than willing to allow us to pay for broken products on release. They feel they can do this because games can be patched through the internet over time.

They will continue to do this if people pre-order games on mass, why wouldn't they? They are all in the business to make money. Soooo.....stop pre-ordering or buying on release and they will get the message.
