Queen Elizabeth II has passed away - keep posts civil and respectful

I think visiting all four nations of the UK for services of reflection is a good way to start for Charles. I don't like that Liz Truss will be accompanying him though. Shouldn't really be about her.

Scotland on Mon, NI in Tues, Wales on Weds.

Truth be told.

As others have posted. There is a discombobulation or disorientation felt here. I have no personal affinity to the Royals at all but these last few hours or days have perturbed me, I suspect due to a need or want for stability, frequency or consistency.

Contrary, nothing more so than watching exerts from the initial proclamation with "Charles the Third" dismissiveness or frustration at certain objects affecting his ability to sign a piece of paper.

I think the Royal era ended with The Queen.

Maybe he'll have a positive influence on her... words I never thought I'd type.

I think the difference between them is that she would have glanced and it would have been moved, whereas I believe William would have just moved them himself.

crikey if you watched the signing it wasn't the ink-pot/pen, that social media is apparently preoccupied with, that was the issue
- he obviously didn't want to mess up his signature on the official parchment(myler ?)
- williams lefty antic made him look kack handed
- they provided no blotting paper
- her royal highness looked uncertain how she was going to sign it too.
maybe the sovereign has to get used to signing stuff ... but how often do most folks write anything these days. (e: could have been like the Amazon man asking for a squiggle on the tablet)

not sure what the trepidation was about letting the cameras in .. I had thought they were talking about the crowning ceremony bit that was (will be?) masked from the serfs,
just between him and the ArchBishop/God

They literally had millions if not billions watching them. I am sure he was very nervous. Social media is the king of Chinese whispers making a mountain out of a mole hill.

It does feel weird having a King rather than a Queen, but then I was speaking to my nan who's 102 and she pointed out that of the 5 monarchs during her life, four have been Kings, so the Queen was an exception, just a really big exception!
